I am soooooooo glad that all of the "know somethings" WARNED me about how bad Gazelle Transportation really is, but it's too late, I took their job offer to drive out of their Houston terminal and felt horrible about accepting their job offer ever since......and all I have to say to all of you posters on this forum is this.....YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT...GAZELLE TRANSPORTATION IS BAD....VERY BAD!!
Sooooooo.....how bad are they????
They are so bad that they hired a guy like me who has NO crude oil hauling experience (that's bad, really bad)
Gazelle is so bad that they flew me and a couple others up to Greeley, Colorado for 2 weeks of training, so bad that they gave me a nice hotel room in Greeley (a mini suite).....but that's not all, Gazelle really wanted to pi$$ me off so not only did they give me a nice hotel room, but a new rent a car from Budget to drive around in (the other drivers got cars too).......this horrible company also gave me several hundred dollars for a food/toiletry stipend while I'm training, and it's not the Swift McDonalds Dollar Menu stipend either, I eat very well thanks to this HORRIBLE Gazelle company. This completely evil company is also paying for my uniforms, travel time, etc.....yep, the posters on this forum are right...
GAZELLE TRANSPORTATION IS BAD!
Now.....let's cut the BS and get to some facts (not that the posters on this forum would do a silly thing like let facts get in the way)
Fact 1, there are no perfect trucking companies...period. I do not look at trucking companies as good vs. evil. I went with Gazelle simply because not only did I want a change of pace from flatbed....but I also wanted to drive tankers and haul crude. As far as I'm concerned, industry-wide, crude hauling over the long term in the Great State of Texas is a much better opportunity than the flatbed job I had with Wile E Coyote, hauling casing to the local oil rigs that, if I was lucky, would gross $790 a week on a 1099 with no insurance for a company that wanted their drivers to run hot logs, yet had a terminal manager that would not allow me to put an American Flag decal on my truck for fear it would offend the Hispanic drivers at that terminal.
Fact 2, I wanted longevity, and crude oil hauling in Texas is predicted to be growing, steady and stable over the next 20+ years....so if in the highly unlikely event that Gazelle doesn't work out, this "NO EXPERIENCE HAULING CRUDE OIL" driver...will have crude oil experience....Gazelle gave me the opportunity when others (Gold Spur, are you listening?) didn't return my calls or told me that they wanted someone with experience....So if you're looking for the perfect trucking company with the perfect dispatchers, perfect weather, perfect trucks, perfect pay, perfect loads, etc, etc, etc.....then you better find a new career because trucking's not for you. As for me, I do my research, my homework and although Gazelle may not be right for everyone, it was the right opportunity for me at the right time and I'm taking advantage of it. I heard other posters say that Gazelle is more concerned with image, etc....well hello McFly!! That's what salesmanship is about, image, but I can't tell the posters/drivers/steering wheel holders on this board that because they act like they all went to the "Wharton School of Business" and obviously feel qualified enough to post negative crap about Gazelle based on hearsay from a pi$$ed off ex-employee on this board who will never admit to the rest of us on this forum that they got fired, they never do, instead they ALWAYS say "Brand-X is a bad company, and you have to believe me, since I'm here to let you know they are a bad company and I quit workin for them because they are bad, blah, blah, blah"....and everybody on this board goes "oooohh and aaaahhh" and believes it to be the gospel truth without checking any facts. That BS is laughable, but hey, if you're that stupid to believe one or two people trashing a multi-million dollar company without some sort of corroborating evidence to the contrary, then maybe you should have your CDL pulled along with your endorsements.....oh well, it's pointless talkin to the children on this board, y'all will get upset reading this anyway and will want to trash me or try to hurt my feelings for writing this post in support of Gazelle Transportation, but you forgot something very important....I'm a truck driver and that means only one thing....I have no feelings.....on top of that, I could give a ##### less what you think....I'm gonna do what's best for me and my two best friends......myself and ILast edited by a moderator: Sep 14, 2013

spoken like a true knewbee, that has NO idea what crude hauling is about.
Yep, Gazelle spends tons of money on you when they are opening a new terminal, which both of you are at.
In three months Gazelle will be opening another new terminal, and that is where all the focus and money will go.
In 6 months, you will be starving to death as Gazelle lost contracts, due to screw ups and lack of service.
At this point, the only way to make money is to travel, to start the new terminals, to become one of the "company boys."
Enjoy the next 6 months.
Now just maybe, the company will make a drastic change in their operations. LOL
Big Duker and Western flyer Thank this. -
Crude hauling is TX and elsewhere will be good-until they put a pipeline in and you're out on the street. And just look at the new rail yards everywhere. See those unit trains of pipe??? They can put you out in a few months these days. Especially in TX where it is relatively flat and they can fly. Get your money while you can and save a lot. Forget the new $50k pickup and huge tv. This like all booms will fizzle out. Those who managed it will be in high cotton. Those who thought they knew it all and listened to the company line and recruiters will be broke #### dogs.
Wymon Thanks this. -
"In 6 months, you will be starving to death as Gazelle lost contracts, due to screw ups and lack of service"
All this from a person who can't spell "newbee" and now claims that they are now a "fortune teller" by predicting that I will starve in six-months because of lost contracts and lack of service......wow, your "knowledge" of the Houston market really "impresses" me, all this homespun education from a former Gazelle driver who's new hobby is chasing bugs and hanging fly-strips from his front porch in Wyoming.....yikes.....glad you're not the CEO....we'd ALL be starving in LESS than six months..
TLeaHeart....do yourself a favor, quit posting while you are ahead of the game and extend your efforts on contacting your kinfolk for your next "job" so us big boys with an education, good safety record and experience can take the risks and reap the rewards in Houston while angry drivers with an axe to grind (like you) sit back and do nothing but ##### and complain....
Good Luck123456 Thanks this. -
Let's call this one done.
