Thanks again for the info. Since you're driving a company truck, I assume that don't let you make any modifications. So, I'm assuming you used some type of 120v plugin? If so did it run the frig okay? I guess I should check out the "electroincs" forum on this web site. I'm probably going to use a Verizon Jet-Pack for wi-fi. How do you feel about the the up coming "cold weather" driving? Are you still as excited as you were a year ago? I use to play a lot of golf and there was a saying, "keep em between the trees", I'm going to modify that a bit. Stay safe and keep it between the lines.

@fr8te_sh8ker: Thanks for the great advice! I will use it when the time comes. Since I have under 7 posts, I could not do a reply.

How is your mentoring coming along. Do you have a student?

Thanks and you're welcome! I had a 300v if I am not mistaken and the fridge that I bought wasn't powered by it. I am not certain if Ill have to invest in one with more juice or if it was just the fridge I bought. Ill have to look into that one myself as well. I'm looking for a new Wi-Fi/hotspot gadget myself that I can use to connect going forward. I had hotspot with AT&T and though it was expensive; because I went over on occasion 30gbs I would rather pay that extra money than have really bad Wi-Fi that I was disconnected more than I was online. Cold weather driving, I respect the road when its dry, so Ill just amp it up when it starts to rain and snow more. I don't play with bad weather. If I'm not feeling the conditions, Ill get off the road and park and be late rather than not making it there at all. Yes! Very I am still excited about driving for Swift and trucking in general. I get to see amazing things and talk to and see different nice people. This is still way better than retail and factory job by far! I don't think Ill be able to go back to a job like that again.

I had a student and he drove really well. Held the road as perfect as a new driver could, shortly after him getting on the truck I was contacted and asked if I wanted to get on the Home Depot dedicated account. Since it was salary I said sure. Unfortunately miles aren't top priority and that is how he was going to get his hours so he asked to be dropped off at a terminal and me to go for the account. It was a surge type deal where they get drivers in to take care what the other drivers couldn't possibly legally do so I did that for about 2 months, pay was awesome, finished off some bills faster that way and banked some, and then came back out on the road when it was over. Mentoring is work, no doubt, my driver leader is hinting at me to go back but we are both in agreement Ill give it about a months time maybe before that time.

Yes, this parallel blind side back is ridiculous, that's what killed me when testing for the cdl.

The company I am looking at has a similar job, where you drive for the off-duty drivers. I might be able to get into school early and finish earlier than I had previously posted. Since I have been unemployed for three years (from the IT Field, and not because I have not been looking), and since I have prior military experience, I might be able to get funding from the state, in conjunction with Fed money that will pay for the entire school. The one I am looking at is 240hrs and 6 weeks long. Next class starts in October. I have an appointment to see the school on Wed and to get the necessary paper work started. Stay safe, my on-line friend, and keep em between the lines.

I am doing a Wi-Fi test between Ta and pilots/flying Js to see which one doesn't disconnect me. So far I have been disconnecting at Ta more than I have at Pilot/flying Js. At the end of my "study" I'm thinking I will pay for a years worth of Wi-Fi. I did have At&t but my phones unfortunately was stolen last month when I went on home time, so as much as I liked dishing out the money for service, what I will be paying for at a years worth of Wi-Fi will be 5 times as, maybe 6 times cheaper than what I paid for hotspot. I'll just have to make sure I plan to get to either or at the end of my 11 nightly. What is your luck with truck stop Wi-Fi?
