"I guess if you're used to shelling out peanuts, the idea of actually paying someone a rate that allows them to receive a ROI, cover their costs, (and not just the fuel, but all of the costs), and make some decent income commensurate with the risk of being a business owner, instead of a CH employee.... then sure, it might seem like I'm sticking it to you.

You always have the option of not accepting the rate.

But understand this, if I offer you a fair rate, and you decline it, I'm going to hang you by your ankles and shake every last dime out of you when you call back an hour later wondering if I might still be interested in your load...lol...

And that, my friend, is sticking it to you."

    Exactly!

All valid points, and i pay my drivers who provide your type of service a premium since they have earned it. It is just funny how you generalize CH by a few experiences and that all loads are cheap and heavy! When i book probably 10 loads perday with 7 pallets of greens weighing nothing, going 116 miles and paying $1200 for it, on a load delivering straight through, less than 24 hrs on a truck. BUt everyone wants to complain about a load they called in on and were offered a low rate. We get caught with plenty of loads we take a hit on, and we dont go blaming the drivers for charging too much. We inderstand it is a business.

I was speaking for brokers not rollling over, not drivers, so there was no inconsistency, but it was unclear.

Quick question, if they are calling in to quote you on additional freight, wouldnt that mean you haul freight for them already? Them being CH? Who you swore you dont haul for?

    Moblue, thanks for the input.
