Columbus, OH (near enough) at the Pilot.
Delivered to the Target DC this evening.
Trouble was, the on/off ramps where I needed to exit are closed for construction.
I followed the detour sign for hwy 29 for my direction, which put me back on 29 - but the road in that direction was closed as well.
Luckily there was a place I could turn around and find another route.
A USX driver pulled in as I was making my turn around, lost like me.
Using the map on my GPS I found the way, with USX following me. He had neither GPS nor CB, but his destination was on a street I was turning onto.
I just got a pplan - pu at Swift by 0629 and deliver 100 miles away by 0600 tomorrow morning.
If only I could travel at light speed...
Good night from...

I also have been driving long enough to know if someone is weighed down or mt....he had no seal and when we went through towns he would speed off like he was mt....so I KNOW he didnt have 45k in that box and the grades were not enough during that part of the route to fluctuate that much in speed especially if he sped up on hills.... -
Stopped at the Pilot up the road from Salem, planners sent 2 preplans wanting me to pick up a tcall tonight delivering in toledo and then picking up a load there at the same place delivering in the morning. Nope and nope, I declined both of them stating I did not have enough hours and was not going to run out of my 14 just leaving the final looking to park and then do a 10. Guess the planner didnt like that so 15 minutes later I finally got the load removals and a pta update for the 21st, love when planners play childish. Im sure there are drivers there in troutdale waiting for a load to leave instead of sending me 61 miles. Oh well I will just change my pta back once again when im going to bed, let the planner have his fun until he goes home.

no never been to Toledo. I do know the last 2 times I went to Washington on a weekend I got stuck for the weekend but I didnt know you can park on site there, im used to being kicked out from shippers.
My 14 runs out minutes around the time I would be getting that load so yes I worried about parking, you cant just park anywhere, I have spent up to a hour looking for a place to shut down on several occasions so I just dont like taking too much chance. Yeah I complain about miles sometimes but I also dont jump to accept just anything especially if I have some doubt which I did.
Stupid move on my part? possibly so but either way I got my info from you guys a bit late so I will just have to see what happens next.scottied67 Thanks this. -
