Cruise control: You're on a flat stretch with CC set at 65. You go to climb a little hill and AFTER you have already started loosing speed (usually .5-1 MPH or so) the CC kicks in and "floors" it to get up that little hill. This spools up the turbo 100% (or 40ish psi) to climb the little hill, and doesn't let out of it till you have already started down the hill. This is unnecessarily burning fuel.
Foot Control: You're on a flat stretch with your foot on the pedal cruising along at 65. You see the hill coming so you slightly start accelerating, but keeping your turbo around 15 psi or less. You increase your speed 3-5 miles per hour before you hit the little hill. As you climb you slightly let off the accelerator to keep your turbo boost between 15-20 psi (or less if its a really small hill,) letting your engine pull the hill and not the turbo. As you start to crest the hill you ease off completely and let the momentum pull/push you over the hill.
The turbo eats your fuel. You want it to be at or lower than 15 psi boost as much as possible. This is not possible with CC, but is possible with Foot Control.
Its what I call being an ACTIVE driver VS being PASSIVE driver.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely, but with some reservations. But those reservations would apply to ANY lease. I think that it's probably the best lease out there, but I haven't seen them all. Do your research, and if you DO find a better lease, please LET ME KNOW! -

I run less than 2% cc but I'm trying to compensate for that large hood I'm pushing down the road.

Ran from Winnemucca to Rock Springs, WY today. I'm going off in search of a fabled restaurant near the J that serves decent Chinese food, so I'll be brief.
This load delivers Saturday morning in N. Platte. I got a preplan this morning picking up Saturday in Lexington, NE. Sweet! It delivers in Oakland Tuesday morning for a total of 1,501 miles. That, along with this 1,605 mile trip will make for another nice week! The winds weren't so nice today and I managed only 7.5 mpg, which is also my weekly running total. With this light load, I expected 8+ today. Ah well. Tomorrow will be much better I'm sure.luvtotruck Thanks this. -
Depends on ur set up. My Cat has the fuel saver file, it kicks in slow and uses the low side turbo unless I drop at least 4mph then high pressure kicks in. I get better fuel mileage on cc. If I approach a large hill I press the accelerator for full power.

Great thread! I started at the beginning a few days ago, and have enjoyed being able to pick up a lot of information. I look forward to reading on this one. Thanks.
Sharpp and Trafficcontrolxl Thank this.
