Well today was a nice surprise. My DM had been saying that they could not find me anything home to NC. So I took the load to California from Connecticut. I started the run but instead of running across on I-80 my DM paid the out of route miles to run down on I-40 so that I could make it to the JCT running lanes. So today I started running through the mountains of course and I get an important message over the QUALCOMM. Before I could even listen to it my DM was calling me to tell me that they found a favorable repower to get me home. They have been trying for over a week. I knew they were going to bat for me but did not expect it this soon. Thanks to my great DM. So I deliver tomorrow in Salisbury NC and then head to the house for a 34 hour reset and to get my stuff.:biggrin_25525: Boy the wifey is gonna be happy. So I will get another load on Monday and hope for another coast to coast load. By the way my MPG for the week is sitting at 7.5mpg with 90% mountains and no load under 34000lbs. So far I have had some ups and downs with some of the loads but have hit a nice stride and can't say anything bad about JCT so far.

Today was a beautiful day for a drive! Wyoming and Nebraska never looked so good with sunshine and light breezes. Some mileage first. From Rock Springs to Cheyenne, a stretch starting with some climbing then up and down, then a big climb over 8,700 feet, then a nice long glide to the pumps got me 8.3 mpg. Considering that I did no better than 7.5 for all day yesterday I am happy. I added enough fuel in Cheyenne to get to N. Platte and Lexington, NE and back (no use carrying extra fuel around, right?) then cruised the 233 miles or so to the Love's. For that stretch I got 12.0 mpg! Another driver posted on here that he got something like 10.5 on that bit of road so I'm thrilled.

As I backed in, I saw another JCT truck backing in across the lot. It was a brand new Cascadia Evolution with the largest number I've seen (newest). I ran into that driver in the store and talked with him while I waited for my shower lottery ticket to come in. He said that he just got the truck on Wednesday. He has been with us for two months and started out in a Pete. He was getting lousy mileage and asked to change trucks. JCT may tell you in orientation that you can change trucks after 90 days. But this is the second driver recently that I've heard about swapping trucks in less than that. Oh, I asked him but he said that he doesn't read TTR. Doesn't ANYBODY read this thing???

I got a PM about the Scangauge and it bears repeating what Soule_Man reported earlier: Autozone has it online for $169.99 with free shipping. PLUS if you order it this month and use coupon code SEPTEMBER20, you'll get 20% off.

Tomorrow is an early delivery, then motor over to Lexington for, hopefully, a quick drop and hook and then westward on a 1,500+ mile trip.

SM That is AWESOME! Glad you can finally get home to get your blanky, I bet this crying yourself to sleep is getting old! and a 34 at the house is going to be good. 7.5 MPG Average is pretty good as well! I texted you today with a response to yours but you must have been busy! Like maybe Driving!:biggrin_25523:

you guys stay safe out there.

I see folks using a 'scan gauge' and others that use the 'scan gauge KR'... (The one Kevin Rutherford is promoting) ... Any idea what the differences are?

I 'discovered' Scangauge from listening to KR. He takes a standard Scangauge unit and hacks the software to customize it. From what I remember, he turned down the refresh rate and added some profit parameters in there. I didn't think that it was worth the extra money ($197) so I just got the basic one.

Stopped back in Gallup and my keys had been found. Still costly to cut old lock off and get a replacement

Hi, Guys! Happy to say I'll be joining you in early October! My wife is flyboynme, she has a thread here:

Thanks Sharpp for this great thread, my wife was directed here by TAfool, thanks to him also. And a big thanks to Trafficcontrolxl for putting in a good word for me!

This thread has been very informative; my wife has read more than me because I've been out on the road, but I'll get caught up soon. Really do appreciate all the help and info!

Just saw an ad for the CAT scales app and checked it out at www.weighmytruck.com... any of you out there using it? Looks like a useful timesaver...
