Freightliner freaking wants to charge min of 6hr labor to do front motor mount on c15 acert engine. They said how the bolt is they have to take the harmonic balancer off to take the bolts out. Any true to this and are they charing me too much for labor or it sounds right?

why not just change it yourself? it's an easy job

How would I left the motor up to remove the mount?

If the motor mount bolts are pointed up (nuts on top) then the balancer does not have to come off, but superhauler is correct if you are anywhere near 500,000 miles this would be a perfect time to replace it anyway. Even if they take the balancer off, if it takes them 6 hrs they are doing it wrong. Might want to find a better garage. I think the big "F" word on the front of the building might be most of the problem.

So how can I lift the engine up? The truck has almost 600, 000 miles, why does the harmonic Balancer should be replaced around 500k does it go bad or something?

Yes they do wear out and you may be able to maybe use a piece of hardwood and a hydraulic jack to raise the engine. On another note,i asked Freightliner about replacing my windshields on a Classic. They told me 6 hrs. The parts guy recommended an independent shop that came to me. Guy charged me $150.00 and it took about 45 minutes. It pays to look around.

the easiest and cheapest way to lift the engine is a big tree branch and cheap come along. you only need a few inches.
