Less than 2 weeks driving and I'm already into it with the Safety Dept.

If they are in error then inform them of their error in a professional manner and back it up with proof enough that their is no outcome other than the one you seek.

What they all said. You should have copies of your logs and or DVIR for that day. Did you offer up any evidence that you didn't do it while you were in the safety office?

I tried to show him the records on my phone, but he said it could be erroneous if I accidentally (or purposefully) keyed in the wrong info. You can't go back and just *make* logs in this app, though. My DM is familiar with it since there are some other drivers who use it. I was called into Safety at the end of the day and my DM was off the property, so I couldn't talk to him. I called and made an appointment for tomorrow, however.

I am going to print everything off and show that I've been tracking everything. I have dates, times, truck numbers, locations, fuel times/receipt numbers and odometers. We turn in our inspection sheets every day before we leave and I'm not sure where they go after that. Our logs are also turned in each day. My DM should be able to pull things if I make my case. I have a Lead Driver I can talk to as well, but he doesn't have much authority. He's more of a cheerleader.

The thing I think is silly is I don't think anyone checked anything. Maybe another driver was questioned and my name came up. The joys of being the new kid...

Camscanner is a good app for keeping a copy of any paper work that you must relinquish.

Take a pic of the paper, then it adjusts any off angle camera position to make the shot square. After that it adjusts the color and brightness/sharpness etc automatically or manually and then converts it to a small file size PDF file for saving, emailing etc...

It sounds like you have plenty of documentation to prove your case.
I don't see why your company doesn't know who was driving which vehicle that day, sounds like incompetence on someone's part...but those smart office people will never admit to a mistake.

Another point...if they have video of the truck damaging property why don't they have video of who was driving it?

Actually that is exactly why I use that app because you can "make" it say anything you want, however the companies own records should clear you if they will give them up. Your paper log (once signed) is a legal Federal Document, if they feel you forged or altered it, AND they accepted it anyway, they have just hung themselves, it seems to me like they are trying to muddy your file enough to slow or stop scheduled performance/safety bonus'(the less they pay you the more they get to keep). Hopefully your DM will have your back, but if not, just grin and bear it it's happened to all of us at one time or another. Its part of paying your dues. Try to roll with it get a year in then start job shopping, job jumping 2 weeks in looks bad even if you are not guilty. If you get mad and quit, your DAC report will read something like; Backing accident, property damage, employment terminated. No mention of you being the one to terminate the employment, makes you look very guilty on paper and no one looking at it 6 weeks later is going to even ask what really happened. It's not fair but it is the way it works most of the time.
