I'm not getting much at Schneider, so what's the difference? I'm on my third load under 200 miles with a live unload. But thanks for your consideration.

If you live in Cali why aren't you looking at Gordon or one of the companies there? The NW companies are south better to work for than JB hunt.

My impression of JB is good, despite its humongous size. Not a 'starter' company. Many, many, many years ago JB moved into the Southgate terminal just around the corner from where I worked in Southern Cal. We were Teamsters, so JB wasn't a temptation. Interesting to see that JB still has that terminal all these years later. Jampacked with trucks, too.

Here in Indiana, the feedback I get locally about their regional intermodal through Chicago from Indy is also very good. Predictable hometime, excellent pay. Not sure about Philly, but I would bet it's about the same. What I have been told (from the wife of a driver at JB), $1000-$1200/wk, 5-day week. Of course, that's second hand. Doesn't necessarily mean it's typical.

As far as Gordon, 13 of my first 30 loads were under 200 miles. Under $60. Unpaid time for loading/unloading and scaling gave my wallet a beating on those short runs. Wallet looked like run over by a steam roller. Fla-a-a-a-at.

intermodal pays well from what I've heard probably a bit more then what you were told. I'm making about $1,200 on dedicated out of newburgh. home every night. Not living in truck. Jb certainly has their quirks but im making real good money drive a brand new truck and sleep in my bed EVERY night.

Jb will run you as many miles as they think you can handle my boss is verry clear about that to all the drivers on my account if you are reliable and do your deliveries on time you will get trusted with the longer runs or a back to back as we say on my account if you can't make your deliveries on time then don't expect to make much money . And they don't push to do stupid things with your logs and there is plenty of time built in to our scheduals to make our deliveries on time so most of the time you won't have any trouble delivering on time .

Lol! That's funny. Which OTR company doesn't make you sleep in their trucks? I'm sure they don't buy you a hotel room every night lol!

I meant it as the size of the new LW trucks. I took a look at one in eaton rapids. You cant have the passenger seat removed for more room. The driver had to hang his shirts on the back of the bed. I have a closet that has more room than the sleeper.

Yeah that's true because the Cascadia I had at Schneider was much larger.
