Yes, we worked at the same Knight as everyone else. Sliding scale, per diem, short hauls, ect....We just didn't struggle to make a decent check. For the lesser experienced driver, it was not that bad for us. They have drivers that have been there 5+ years just like everyone else. We knew we would have higher ceilings elsewhere and moved on after gaining a bit more experience.

If your making just $400 a week then your doing something wrong. I am a Knight driver and after
1 1/2 years with them I can say so far so good. Currently I am on a dedicated account for IKEA
And I average 3600 - 4200 miles a week. Also with this account I live 20 miles from my pickup in jersey so I get to go home 2 - 3 times a week for my 10 - 15 hour break. While Knight is not
Perfect the pluses out weigh the minuses. Just gotta be willing to be a driver not a steering wheel holder. -
With any company,if you're an OTR driver and some aare on dedicated runs, the dedicated drivers are going to make more then the otr drivers.Because you constantly keep going.OTR drivers deliver then sit waiting for another load.My pay was bad with werner and my dispatcher and I got along great but I was over the road..The dedicated drivers made some real good money.Just because drivers don't make decent money with companies does that make them steering wheel holders.

At least you got a cool pic out of it
You used to be very active on here. Do you still drive ? -
It does not apply to a business that you have a previous relationship with, only with a "cold call" list.

The drivers out of the NW that run the 5 don't sit. And they ain't ded either. Just talked to one a few hrs ago. Does a 4 day turn to LA and a 3 day turn to N Cal area. Then a restart. .37 per mile plus .05 safety, prod, Maint bonus. Do the math. They have drivers all over the west running linehaul. If you are a runner they will run you. They have a lot of slackers and bad dprs like any large company. They have only a few dprs in the NW so if they don't like you they will starve you out. So if you are making $400 a week at any company, and not a student you need to look in the mirror. More get screwed in the SW. 4 terminals close together all trying for the good runs.

I have worked for 4 OTR company's I ran and got paid good at all of them. In short $400 in a week OTR can only be accomplished by either the driver or the dp'r or both being numptys. When you have the drivers come on here and say they worked their behinds off running 2200-2500 mls in a week and the co showed no gratitude It makes us old schoolers chuckle. We started in the days when you always had hrs and the word can't was not in are vocabulary.
A steering wheel holder uses both all the time. And the co treats them accordingly. Thats a fact of OTR.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
. I can all most believe it ,then I saw I live 20 miles from pickup in jersey. No way in gods green earth you doing 3600 to 4200 on elogs in that part of the USA unless it all night running. But still don't belive it
