miller does that along with dana and superior. though the highrise will limit where you can go. I have one customer I pick up at on a regular basis that anything over 12 foot will not get into plant my truck is 11 ft 6 in currently and the one im in process of acquiring is about 10 feet in height cept for stacks which are 11.6

Well I've always been HHG driver so I've never owned anything but a hi rise, dbl condo....however I've taken a beating from the darn trees over the years through some of these subdivisions and apt complexes..ugh I've had to buy plenty of new stacks bc of it too.. (Hardheaded I guess) lol

You aren't pulling a van anymore. With a tank, flat bed what ever like that that is low you will feel a burble behind your sleeper.. Where the wind is being sucked into the back of the sleeper. So a high rise is useless and even costing you. Also even with high stacks anything over about 11-6 is going to cut back on where you can load or unload.

I see several that do have hi rises that pull tanks, but like you said I'm sure the m.pg. are really bad.

I started back in 1977 as a part time job. I was still in the Navy and every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I was driving a truck throughout 7 southern states. I did it because I loved it. The pay was just an extra bonus. I kept driving whenever I could and then I retired from the Navy and then had to find a job. I was actually a heavy construction equipment operator but I found I could make more money driving than construction. I still loved the job and of course I was looking to increase my pay whenever I could, I had a family. Now retired I miss it and would probably drive for free for at least 50 miles then back to the good life of retirement.
