When Plus1 changes your delivery time simply ignore the change and go with what you saw on the PrePlan. I do it ALL THE TIME and have NEVER had a problem.

I had that before, one time it changed on me by several hours and I planned the trip down the minute since it was a tight run but enough time, after dispatch it changed to be delivered by 4 hours earlier but I didnt notice the change. When I was shutting down for a 10 before the delivery I then noticed the change and then did a mac 22 and called up my DL to explain it, he looked at the messages and said just get it there when I can safely. After that I always check for any changes that might be thrown my way.

The other thing I hate is when they do a reschedule on you at a last minute, one night I shut down 40 miles from where I was picking up at 11am the next morning, I wake up to a new message at 8:30 telling me the load was rescheduled for 8:45 and I was like wtf?
I called and said there was no possible way, well when i got there they people said they never changed the time and it was still set for 11am but the trailer was preloaded and ready so I could take it.

What irritated me was that I did a split sleeper since I could not finish my 10 having to leave early, only lucky I drove only 3 hours the night before so the hours left got me where I needed to go.

They like to mess with us, it seems, just to save a few minutes on their books.

My current load is much the same.
I get the plan, with a message to pick it up and they will tell me what to do with it soon.
It could not be delivered on time with the hours I had coming in, but I grabbed it. 3k miles in a single load is not to be taken lightly.

I had expected a t-call or repower, but it never came.
So I did a Mac22 with my expected delivery time.
Earlier today I get new appointment times, and the first stop is barely within legal limits.
    Plus-1 times, of course.

When I called my DM about t-calling the load he told me the actual delivery window, so I'm taking a couple extra hours of sleep before I deliver.

I will say one thing, since getting my new DM and having that chat a few weeks back I've been running consistently each day. It's close to a month now without having to take a 34 with the balance of my 70 hovering between 1 to 16 hours, depending on loads and time coming back. I'm getting loads with time frames that are workable with my available hours, unlike when I first began with the newbie DM group.

After having that load cancelled earlier today I got a dispatch for a nice 3 day run, starting with 220 miles of deadheading for a drop and hook.

By the way, Wolf, I hear what you are saying about amending my log book in the event I would have had to cancel out my pretrip. Lucky for me I didn't decide to start about 20 minutes earlier, because I would have been on the road when the messages came in. Normally when I get messages while driving I may drive until my next planned stop rather than pulling over at the next available spot. It's a major PIA to constantly have to pull over for each message.... especially when it's an "IMPORTANT" message.

you dont have to pull over, it took me up until maybe a month ago for someone to tell me about the voice on the qc, never was told or taught all those months.

Click on home then click on messages, you will see the white screen that will say Message 1/253 or might say 4/253 if you have 4 new messages, push the center button with the arrows around it and the qc will tell you the message in voice, when that message ends use the left arrow to go to message 3 and then it will read that one off to you.

Before I knew about this I also pulled over for those dang messages. Hope I explained it clear enough for you to figure it out.

If it won't talk to you, you may have to press the 'talking head' button, then the center 'select' button.
Sometimes more than once, or in a different order. Just keep bouncing between the two until you hear a voice.

My t-call/repower never came through. It seems no one wants to touch this hm load.
So now I have to take it to Mira Loma for delivery on Thursday.
Which means that this 3,000 mile load will not be on my next paycheck, and I will have a zero paycheck next week.
I'll also have to put off my home time until the 20th (because I need a good paycheck when I get there), and I've been out over 8 weeks already.

What's worse, I'm not sure if I have enough hours on my 70 to complete the load.
If I hit any traffic or get slowed down too much for any other reason I'll run out of time before I get there.
Even so, I may not have enough time to get somewhere to park after I deliver.

The rescheduled delivery time was for 0530-0730, but this place usually has a wider window - until 1300 was on my original pplan.
When I did my Mac4 after the first stop I gave a delivery time of 1100, and I got no response. So I hope that is within the actual window.
But I don't intend to waste precious minutes fighting rush hour traffic in that area.

    DocWatson Thanks this.

Thanks for the "push to talk" option. That worked just fine on the last couple of messages, although "Judy" does get a little hard to understand at times. Her pronunciation can be challenging. I always get a kick when I'm heading to "STREET Louis, MO" or "REHno, NV"... :D

    DocWatson Thanks this.

yeah some of the words it says can get a bit funny and it is hard to understand some stuff but you at least get the point of the message without having to pull over and it end up being some stupid "important message" csa update

Rule of thumb, if it is an "Important" message... it isn't. Most likely just a fleet message or something that has no bearing on my current decision making.

What is strange about using push to talk. According to Safety in SLC, we are not allowed to push even one button on our Smart phone to see if missed call or a missed msg, but we can push a few buttons on the QC to listen to a msg
