I quoted from my earlier post. The truck is an '07 T-600. My son is driving our other truck, an '04 FL Century 500hp 14L S60, 13sp, 3.55 rears on lowpro 22.5. That one runs the same way and capable of the same mpg and uphill pulling, just the Detroit is better suited with the lower rears for a little more rpm. The cat does it's best 1300-1500, the detroit about 1000 rpm higher. We both hit our best mpg numbers riding hills at 60-65 mph.

regardless of specs in general I have always found a 475 cat cranked up to 550 with a 13 spd tranny or 18 would be better and 3.55 or 3.73 was a great pulling outfit. Not a mechanic by any means but have impressed quite a few people with that and had good high end power.

i have drove plenty of trucks that would blow the doors off most less than 80k lb otr trucks pulling grades when i was loaded between 96-105k and id pass 5 axle otr trucks like they were standing still on grades, they were spec'd 550-600hp 1850 tq 3.55's with 18 speeds.

on my 00 W900L I had a 3406E 550hp, 18 double over, 3.55 rears and 22.5 lp's That truck would get down and boogy if I told it to, however most of the time I was out there at 68 mph.

However coming across 20 in West Texas I have wrapped it up well over 100mph a couple of times.

Note if you want to do this you have to get the top speed limiter shut off because most trucks have it set at 90 or 99 mph. Mine did when I bought it, it was set at 85, scared the #### out of me when I went to pass someone on the 2 lane and the motor cut out at 85 going around them and there was on coming traffic.

So these trucks that zip by at 70+ MPH are likely turning 1600 RPM or better, right ? That's what the posted gear ratios and tire sizes seem to indicate.

3:55's & lp 22.5's will not get you "well" over 100mph!!

All these guys with "triple digit trucks" crack me up!! Most of them have no clue what it takes to run that fast! My truck will, but it takes quite a bit of winding it up to get there! Rtlo 13,2:93 gear & full size 24.5 tires!!! 2100=123 mph!

    yeah I'm at 1600 rpm's at 71mph with lp22.5 3.55s and a .73 10spd. And I'm pretty much a fleet spec truck. Really want a different trans because I weigh 31-41k a lot.

Shouldn't take a lot of winding unless its challenged for horsepower. Get you a big motor and as you roll into it you will see what I'm talking about.
