Any livestock haulers using this forum mostly interested In drivers based in Alberta and Saskatchewan are you hauling just in Canada or across the border into USA' from what I've heard the pay is based on percentage what is your gross weight loaded I've noticed an extra lift axle on either tractor or trailer on trucks in Western Canada .

The lift axle is for US running trucks, unless I'm mistaken. I think it gives them the cushion in case the cattle shift forward so they don't get an overweight ticket. You're only allowed 15,400 kg on tandems south of the border.

Can't tell you about jobs as I run reefer and never carried livestock.

You could check out Favel Transport. They are a livestock hauler, but they may know who can help you with what you want. www.favel.ca

A lot of roads that are state owned have ridiculous weight limits, takes 3 axles to scale a legal load so to speak. That's mostly in the Dakota's or around that area. I've slowed way down, I just run for 1 buyer usually from sale to pound gain farm or feedlot. Got some other stuff goin on around home can't run like I used to.

Lift axles on Tractors in Western Canada are illegal.

I'm sure you can have them, just can't have them on the ground up here, isn't it? I've seen the B&D Walter trucks with them up here.

My last company had them on a few trucks that did some cattle hauling.
