I was not telling anyone how to do anything. I was merely pointing out that some have a different perspective. And for that, I am deleted from a group in which I may be able to be a good contributor. You do realize that not everyone feels the same way that you do, right? I point that out and you do not like that so you shut 'em down. Fine. I did not break any rules, and you know darn well that I would never purposely attempt to offend anyone. But if you are intentionally seeking things out to be offended by, well then, more power to ya. But nobody likes a dictator. You are a fellow driver and I know that you bust your- nevermind- that might be offensive- you work had too like all of us do. I respect what you do out on the road and I know that you return the same to me and all. But for cryin out loud, you don't have to shut down a legitimate debate. That's all it was.

And the language rule on the group is just like the keep off the grass rule in Little Rock...exact same principle.
-
Well personalities are not grass, or exact same principles either. If someone violates a rule, fine. Kick 'em out. However, you were out of line for deleting me for raising the conversation- and that's all it was- without any profanity or attacks.
Rigbuilder Thanks this. -
I've run out of ways to say it...they gave me the job, I do it...you want to come back and leave the language issue alone, I'm good with that...
If not...Debates never really were my thing. -
when not winning the debate you mean. I may I may not. And I know that you seeked the job out that you claim to have been "given." You go on there and post that it was wrong to delete someone for pointing out that some have different opinions (but that agree to follow the rules anyway), then I will happily request to rejoin and will bury the hatchet. No hard feelings. Have a good weekend and be safe out there. I appreciate what you do out here on the road.
Rigbuilder Thanks this. -
Winning or losing makes no difference...debates suck...I volunteered for the job, yes...but he asked for volunteers...I'm done debating (again)...you could have been helpful there, if you could have simply stayed of the grass.
The end... -
you cannot see the forrest for the trees. You have completely missed my point, and here you go again, shutting it down. Rules are rules, and ARE in place for a good reason. I acknowledge that and so did the others who left on their own accord. My beef with you is that you deleted me for joining in that discussion and pointing out that some had left due to those rules, right or wrong, or indifferent. I just feel that you should acknowledge that it was wrong to delete me simply because I (and others) had feelings that are different- AND YET STILL PLAYED BY THE RULES and agreed to them- even when you admitted that these rules were "unwritten" in the first place. You deleted me because you felt like it and no other reason.
Rigbuilder Thanks this. -
No...I booted you because you wouldn't let it go...same as you're doing here...the language rule was made, voted on, and ratified...from where I'm sitting its you that can't see the forest for the trees...and are completely missing my point.
If I entertained every argument against a rule I'd never get anything else done...that's nut how I want to spend my weekend...you may not realize it, but the only reason I gave you so much latitude is because I wanted you to understand, accept it and stay...
I wasn't wrong for deleting you...and I'm not going to apologize to you or anyone else for it.
What your are doing here is the same as you walking up to Steve Williams and saying "I think if a driver wants to wear flip flops and sweat pants with half his crack showing...he should be able to"...
And Steve would probably say something like..."Well, he can...but not as a Maverick driver".
Its a rule...arguing with the ones that made it usually ends badly.Last edited: Oct 19, 2013

Geez...I knew there would be some growing pains but I never thought we'd end up with more drama than the women.

I agree with your statement, and he would say that and has every right to. But if I went to him and said that some see that flip-flop policy as innocently ridiculous just FYI- not meaning any more than to point it out and not trying to get it changed (because I actually AGREE with the flip-flop policy, and assuming that HE KNOWS that I AGREE with the flip-flop policy also), then for him to fire me because I was just pointing that out as an FYI would be wrong, and I would have a legitimate point.
