Which is easier to do? Bow or muzzleloader? Does it matter?
-
Depends on where you hunt...the type of terrain and cover...but using firearms is generally easier than archery.
-
yeah, but you only get one shot with either one, right? I would imagine there are no mulligans as a deer- as stupid as they seem- is not gonna stick around for you to take a second shot no matter what. Myself, I am a very good shot with any firearm, so I tend to agree with your statement personally. Let's say it is a flat farm area with not a lot of cover- so its basically easier for the deer to notice movement or scent. Never even holding a bow before-so I claim ignorance here- isn't there more noticeable movement with the bow method?

Couple questionz..
Have you shot a shotgun or muzzleloader or bow before?
Have you checked Ohio state laws?
Do you want to go on a paid hunt or do you know someone with land?
You need to do some reading first.
Shotgun with 3 slugs would pbly be easiest.
And after you shoot a deer, do you have any idea what to do next?
Not trying to pick on you. There are more and larger deer now than 50 years ago, and posing a danger to drivers. There's also coyotes in every county in Ohio, but not making much of a dent in the deer population.
Good luck and enjoy the venison.
Ok, didnt see where you said you were a good shot. I'd still go with a shotgun for the first few hunts.

Thanks. I have many firearms, and am an expert with them all. Qualified Expert in USMC. SO that is not an issue. My family owns a large farm and there are deer all over it. I am not familiar with the laws, but I can look into them. I take it that 3 slugs is the max allowed. One chambered I assume. I have shot at many coyotes and groundhogs though ha! But not with the Remington 12.

Yeah, lots of interesting reading.
Just google Ohio deer hunting laws
Ohio.gov has regs.
Have fun. If you really like hunting, wild boar season is 24/7/365 in Texas. Choppers allowed. More wild pig in Tx than deer in Ohio.
If you've never skinned/gutted a deer, you may want to find some help to learn how to do it neatly.
Just sayin' ...
Deer sausage can be excellent. also, well seasoned venison jerky ....
