A couple of weeks back I replied to another members post about acerts , The thread is locked now so here is an update.
This acert was using oil,and had bad blowby, the oil level dipstick had been forming a dark caramel gluey build up from the oil level to the top for some time, it actually lost a slight amount of oil pressure in the end, from combustion gass burning the oil and carbon and soot slightly clogging the oil filter.
Here is what we found. It was torn down just in time.

Looks like quite a bit of wear on that skirt, and I believe the top ring is what is different in the heavy haul ring set. Glad it was caught in time.

Yep #1 and #6 were broken, it will be getting the high load rings when it goes back together, another interesting thing, is in 12,500 miles between oil samples and oil changes this has developed rapidly. The last sample was an A

if he only had 2. he got lucky.
i drove a dump truck around for the full construction season. come winter time. truck got torn down. all 6 top rings were broke.
cat was installing undersized pistons. i don't remember them pistons looking like his though. i'm pretty sure they were full sized standard pistons.

Been there done that got the 4 year warranty to prove it.

The rock hauler's and log hauler's have that happen seems like to everyone of them, but after the upgrade rings there not much trouble. I know it happens but I don't think anyone here has lost a turbo.
