jaso36, I may be wrong because things have changed at TransAm in the few months since my husband left....Pete, kirk, Panhandle, passport and Honeybadger will correct me if I have this wrong....but I think once you deliver in Iowa it will put you in a better lane for longer runs. Husband always had better paychecks running I80 and going to the northeast.

HTQ I hope so. I hope so I don't mind the North East as long as I am not stuck there.
Crusty Yankee my heart goes out to you. I wish I had some profound words of wisdom. I will pray for you and your family to get through these tough times. You humbled me with your honesty and I thank you. I hope everything works out.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
I checked my book and after I made the delivery in Osage, IA, I was sent to make a pick-up at the meat plant in Waterloo, IA. Delivered in Delaware, OH. That is not a "longer run", but what you post is generally true. The run I am on now came out of Iowa and delivers in Mass.HometimeQueen Thanks this.

I have the longest runs from fort Collins and Greeley co
that is where I get my florida and maine runs
but could be luckoliver2 Thanks this. -
I would love a Fl or Tx run from here. Shoot just any run that is long and tight on time cause I need miles. LOL
-
See...I knew they would correct me!
Things have changed since Husband left, I had noticed that you all deliver to many new places. I guess I should have qualified what I said also. Running from the midwest to the Ohio valley or northeast was usually a faster turn around, lots of options for pick up in those areas that kept the truck moving. No sitting around waiting at the meat houses. In any case, jaso36, don't get discouraged. You will find your niche and I believe you will get some nice miles.
jaso36 Thanks this. -
Fort Collins and Greeley were always just ok for us. They were usually just "connecting" loads going to Nebraska or Kansas, not all of the time but for the most part. Part of the difference I think is in the way they run company versus lease drivers.

The trip Im on now loaded in Greeley with 2 stops in College Park, Georgia, and the final in Jacksonville, Florida. This is my 2nd trip to Florida since the 1st of October.HometimeQueen Thanks this.
-
Wrong. 2nd trip since the 7th of October.
-
Jacksonville is good because you can bounce back up to Atlanta
not have to go to Auburndale and wait for an
oj load
my favorite is this little place on a very little road
north of Atlanta picking up pillows
oliver2 Thanks this.
