So, I have had my truck right at a year and a half..from day one it has been a junk pile..always something wrong with it and always attempting to get things fixed..The problem comes that no one can fix it..I have had it in swift shops and I have had it at a few kenworths..yet still no one can seem to fix it..It was just down in Phoenix for 2 days..they tell me its fixed once again...I get less than an hour from phoenix and the problem arises again..Is there anything I can do or someone I can complain to about this truck? Can rapid response do anything? I am at the point I don't really know what to do about it..maybe I am just stuck with this piece for 2.5 more yrs..LOL I am just tired of paying people to not fix things..A lot of things it came from factory broke and I have to keep getting things fixed from initial issues that the factory failed to do.

Is this a lease truck? What is the main issue with it? Looks like there would be some sort of clause in the contract you could use to at least make them give you another comparable truck to fulfill your lease. If it's really causing you down time and lost money, you may have to seriously consider walking away from the truck straight into another job. I doubt you're going to lose any "equity" and good luck with them coming back after deposits and contract breach money, etc if you've got all this documented

It is not major enough for me to walk away...its just annoying..when we got the truck..it was brand new..500 miles on it...fog lite cover/def cover just fell off..LOL within a few weeks we realized they didn't bolt up the fuel tank on passenger side..took that to kw and had them fix it..foglight just randomly cracks and breaks on driver side..its been to swift 2 times and kenworth 3 times for rear a/c..still not working properly..The latest issue is..coolant leak...supposedly Cummings came to phoenix to fix that (swift cant touch anything around motor area I am told so they called Cummings) Fuel tank..shifted once again..also in the beginnings kw forgot to tighten ubolt on axle..axle shifted..ate up 3 tires and had to get a 3 axle alignment @ my cost within first month..It is just little stuff..nothing major..I just want it to be fixed..and I am not sure who to take it to to fix it..If swift cant fix it and kenworth cant fix it..who do I go to next?

LadyTrucker-I never had good luck with big repair co's. If your off the road for a few days, check out the small local truck repair shops if you have time. There is a lot of talent in these places. My repair people are a truck repair family who I go to when I screw things up. These people are truckers who do remarkable work, but go un-noticed. They have such pride in there work. Check yellow pages. You may drive by some of these small shops that hide this talent. It has worked for me. Mike

It definitely seems I will have to do that or get some downtime in Georgia..My brother is a diesel mechanic also down there so I maybe will just have him check it out when I get down in Georgia again..It just makes me clueless that the people that built the truck cant even fix it.. LOL

Trucks break ... going to happen. But there is also some basic preventive you need to do. First find a good KW dealer near where you take your home time ... when you're home the truck should be in the shop. Everything that broke while you were out should get fixed, then go out with a clean slate.

I've been doing it this way for 4 years and I've only been down on the road for a total or 3 days on 2 separate occasion in 4 years.

Since you got the truck new, most of the issues should be fixed under warranty.

3 axle alignment, you should be doing that at least once a year.

Coolant leak ... right on schedule. Probably the EGR cooler. Most shops - and Swift policy - is to top off the coolant reservoir cold. It should only be at half when cold. Otherwise it over pressurizes the cooling system and eventually something gives.

sometimes the small fixes take longer. Most of these will be passed off with a "bandade' and hope it will hold. But you made a good call. Your bro is at your finger tips!
