I didn't say I was going to run an emissions motor, I specifically said sneak in. Old truck in a nice shiny new truck wrapper. Going to have to wait and see what their enforcement mechanism is before I do anything. You couldn't pay me enough to run one of those new shop queens, they are too maintenance hungry.

They wouldn't be if we could delete the EGR's on them....The DPF's and the SCR's don't hurt the performance since they are "After-treatment"....

But from my experience with EGR's...They are designed to fail....And take out the EGR coolers....and the VGT's with them.....

Well...I do miss my ole N14.....Never had much trouble with that engine.....

I am waiting to see how it all comes together and what the skinny on building a glider is, if I can register it as a 14, then put a 6NZ in it, well that wouldn't be too bad of a deal because I know registering it in Montana they don't care about emissions.

And if I can find a way to beat the Cali Commies at their own game, im all for it.

You can go with your plan but you have to put a dpf on that engine....,when u register the truck with carb you have to also register the engine serial number in order toget a carb cert.....and currently scuttlebug is they are using shippers and recievers for enforcement i think its a 10 g fine for loading a truck without a carb cert...,even new trucks have to register i have had to present carb numbers at a few produce sheds allready i would assume that would be the process when this goes live in jan

Now i renember last year hearing carb set up at poes and was even scoping current dpf filters to make sure they were functional

And to prove my ocd tendency i am thinking about adding a dpf after inframe for same reasons mentioned i kind of wonder if having a non egr motor without a dpf might b more cost effective...,,the restriction gauge would let you know if there is an issue and pre emmission engines are so much less of a hassle in my opinion

Yes...The CARB Nazis have been doing PSP (Smoke Testing) at the coops throughout the state....Not just the P.O.E.'s themselves....

Now I wonder...Has anyone gone to PDI and had that EGR Delete done?

It's my understanding that they now have a manual control to deactivate the EGR and then when you see the CARB Nazis...You just manually switch the program to "Factory Settings"....

Anyone know if this system actually works or is real?

The PDI DPF delete is real. A friend of mine had it done. Dont know anything about a switch though. As far as glider kits go, You can register it as a 2014, however you will be checked for your engine serial number by the CARB nazi's if you are an out of state truck. If you are registered as a CA truck you will have to present a CARB cert upon registration. Kind of like a VIN verification. Of course it will take a lot longer to catch the single truck operation from out of state but you will get caught. Also, a lot of shippers and brokers are now making carriers sign a statement of facts saying their trucks and reefer units are CARB compliant. This way if you get caught they cant get in trouble for giving you the load. My wife works for CA Farm Bureau. CARB has been screwing farmers in this state for years. Now its the trucking industry's turn. I do miss running my low side end dump. Maybe now with an estimated 30-50% less trucks in the state the rate will go back to where I need it to me so I can start pulling it again

The bright side that I see is that this is going to drive a lot of the illegals who are trucking in California out because they just will not have the money to upgrade from the old piles of garbage they were running out there. Some of the trucks id see running around long beach/la 7-8 years ago made me mighty nervous about being in traffic with them.

The correct response to this post is....nothing you say has anything to do with "Cali" and EVERYTHING to do with Denver!
