I prefer to start early, but like you said, sometimes it's best to wait and let the first wave to through.

I got free traffic with my Garmin diezl. It is helpfull, only works in some areas but if I had to pay a monthly fee no.
-
Google maps traffic view and its free.
-
just don't get caught driving while googling.
i just activate my phone. and let copilot do it's thing. on my tablet tied to the trim up above. $10 for 12 months. -
Gotta disagree with you about the "twice as mucn junk...."; for us consistent CB radio
Listeners, CB conversations, arguments & lectures has decreased to the point whereby I am happy
To hear 2 or more drivers having conversations on cb. Furthermore, just as many drivers
Can attest that you are lucky if you receive a Bear report or other warnings these days
. Usually when I ask for info, 85% of the time I receive positive
replies. -
You don't have to buy the traffic option for your gps. All you need is a mobile hotspot to connect the GPS to. Haven't used it, as my WiFi on mine doesn't work. Soon gonna be chunking it out the window. Biggest waste of $500 my 720 has been.

Thanks,
Mark -
For the TND 520/TND 720 - traffic is a yearly subscription. Fuel and weather are free. All three require you to be Hotspotted since these three are brought over via the internet.
Thanks,
Mark -
Really? Thought younonly had to pay if you wanted an actual receiver for traffic/weather
-
The yearly subscription does NOT require a separate traffic receiver.
Weather and fuel do not require a subscription.
Traffic/Fuel/Weather do require a Hotspot.
Thanks,
Mark
