Roehl Driver Check In Continued

At the BIG CHIEF in Minesota.

 

She's "looking into it", but last time she "looked into it" it never happened. Like I said I won't let it go this time. Enough is enough.

 

Been in Gary all afternoon by the time the relay mess was sorted out it was pointless to leave. So i leave early tomorrow morning to go to cleveland ohio. Have to deliver by 1 pm so not to worried about that.

My day has been mostly crappy. The shipper this morning had a sign that for 5 bucks they will lift your tarps onto the load for you. Fricken exstortion, thankfully it was only 4 bundles of lumber so i only had to man handle one lumber tarp up and on the load.

The consignee was ok got unloaded quick, but when i was out in the lot trying to send my ermpty call and what not, lot security was all up in my face saying i cant park here. I was like let me send one message and I will leave. Than he proceeded to basicly yell at me to move my truck now. I rolled up my window and ignored him. That really pissed him off, he walked away yelling he was calling a tow truck. By that time my empty call was sent and i started to leave anyhow.

Than i get to Gary and deal with a Relay that was not even close to legally secured and no way for me to fix unless you unload the coil and redo the setup.

 

Its sad i know exactly where that is. I have never spent the night there. In that part of the state i just shoot for rest stops.

 

I was going to do the rest stop west of here but it is gone. And I had less than 30 when I pulled in here. Oh well, free WIFI.

 

Yeah, they are pretty flexible for a union place. I've been surprised a few times.

 

I parked at the shipper (lumber company) -- called them on my way there and they said it was fine. Even had a restroom available. Tonight I am parked at the consignee in Sparta, WI, also a lumber company; they will unload me first thing in the AM.

 

Yeah the sparta lumber yard is good people. I am not a fan of the aitkin crew but meh it is what it is. Sparta is quick they swarm your truck with like 5 lifts after they verify everything on the truck.

 

Had a tow truck called on me one time. Typical grocery warehouse Gestapo tactics. I was the only truck in a lot big enough for 50 trucks waiting for my next dispatch when good old Barney Fife shows up with his tin star rent-a-cop badge and starts harassing me. I called dispatch and after sitting there for 8-1/2 hours was told to leave (had enough on 14 to get to TS but killed my 10). As I was rolling out of the lot here came the tow truck. I thought he was bluffing, which they normally are.

 

Spent 3 hours in Green Bay at Cons so had 10 min left to go 30 miles to HeeHaa or Neenah? The said they've towed trucks from this warehouse lot before and billed the company. I moved to the street as I'd rather get a parking ticket...not the only one on the street.
