To each their own. Kind of like when they made so many of them with the smelly air system.

It makes sense sometimes and not others. If you do not like it, you have to live with it. Not a bad idea when you really need a spot.

lol, junebug . I started doing this in 1979, drove company til 89, then bought my first truck , a 1976 international cabover with no a/c or power steering for 1250 bucks. drove that puppy for 4 years til I got my first "hood" a 1986 freightliner conventional and its been on ever since. I have somehow in the meantime managed to raise five kids , pay for a home and 5 acres, another 90 acre tract of land , send part of those to college. yep you figured me out , I am a "retarded business" man.

and I don't need schooling on taxes, my mother in law is a tax agent. she has me covered, you do give a simplistic view of taxes , I happen to value my time and costs to circle a parking lot looking for a spot.

it is also readily apparent you are a trucking genius, it takes a real "special" person to think he can roll into that t/a at 3 am and expect to find a parking spot, yessir you got to be really special to do that.

you show 3 years experience , you haven't been paying attention have you. two things to remember junior, I was doing this before you could wipe your own behind, and 2) I have pushed a coffee cup across a counter at a 76 truckstop more miles than you have driven. whats that?? you want to know what a 76 truckstop is? rotflmao

cranky yankee, thanks. but I don't see it as defending myself. I am having a battle of wits with a unarmed man,lol

arguing with me is like wrestling in the mud with a pig, you eventually find out the pig likes it.

Google maps Does not update every sec, min hour even day. If this was the case, i would be able to see my pickup parked in my drive way at home.

Google maps never is updated. We do not even own the trash can that is on my location and it is still there from many years ago.

    the reserve parking is nice.
There are many of us who don't strictly drive when that yellow thing is up in the sky.
Consider this, many places will hold you way past normal going to bed hours ( what ever that is) So when i know im going to be needing to park at 1, 2,3,am, i can and reserve a spot.
$8-$14.00 is alot cheaper than getting a parking on a ramp ticket. Or getting murdered at bandon lot, like what happened to that Jason guy a couple of years ago.
Depending on the size of the location, there may be as few as 6 reserve spots, up 15 in locations where parking is hard to find after 5pm.
Yes there is a app on Google for TA/ PETRO that will auto dial it when you press RESERVE IT.
Yes there are some companies that will pay the driver back. For those who don't you can write if off on taxes.

Who cares if it's updated? You can still count the parking spaces with it.

So I pull in to a TA and get $500+ fuel, then go to park and they're standing there like Mr. Haney (Green Acres) with there hand out for another fee because $500 wasn't already enough?

I can understand it for those that don't buy fuel there but after a fill up I would think a place to park is expected.

A "tax agent" huh? Wow. That would be impressive if it meant anything, but since that term is so hilariously vague - it doesn't.

Are you trying to say she's a CPA? The fact that you don't know the vocabulary of business says much.

I'm under forced dispatch and can't pick and choose when I can stop Genius. Can't wait to fire the seat fillers dispatching me in April of 2014 when I get my own truck. Disciplined saving IS important isn't it. By your own count that would put me 6.5 years ahead of when you got your truck, yes?

Defending T/A who methodically bought out competitors, fought antitrust (Google the definition of the word) actions and who are now trying to impose fees on drivers who can't afford them while being employed by trucking companies with 95% turnover is idiotic.

It takes a wise man to argue against their own best interests. I'm sure T/A loves you. #sarcasm
