improving the cab heat on an old truck

    Looking for some advise on how to improve the heat on an 87 ford ln9000. We only use it for hauling bulk salt in the winter, and the heat in it really sucks. We tore the thing apart and did a ton of work on it this summer, including trying to seal up all of the leaks and put some more insulation in the cab. If anyone has any advise on how to make the heater work better I would appreciate it. I have been the driver of this truck for the last 3 winters, and this will be my fourth and I dont feel like freezing all winter again.

    Do u use a winter front? Try that, had a frightliner that needed a winter front to keep motor temp up

    Auxiliary heater, Espar or Webasto. Pricey, ($1000 or so) but will get the job done.

    Check at TSC or Farm & Fleet, they have nice small heaters that really belt out the heat. They are for tow motors and tractors, they are about 8"x8"x8".

    Hook up the heater hoses and a 12volt switch and it will keep you toasty! You could "T" into the factory hoses so you can keep the defroster working.

    I dont have a "Winter Front" per se, but I have had to put cardboard front of the radiator to keep the heat up

    an old school bus heater would be AWESOME, I could roll down the highway when It was 0 outside with windows open and a t shirt on

    do you have good airflow out the vents your heater core may be pluged up with dust and hair and everything else that may have been sucked up in there over the years
