How much do you pay for apportioned plates in AZ? Do you know how much the transfer fees are to register my truck and trailer in AZ?

That is correct the long arm of Ca law will extend to ALL players, not just you & your truck, they will/are gonna create a "paper-trail" of compliance so deep you will not want to bussisness here...Shippers / Recievers/ Dmv/ service centers/Fuel stops/ scales/brokers/CHP/& local police will all have access to ...super computer data systems that will have the ability to check your "compliance" anywhere,anytime..No compliance = A fine for any company doing bussisness with you & your illegal truck..lol

So, now brokers are going to get into the CARB enforcement? Is the state of California going to pay brokers a fee to enforce this for them? If this is true, it is time to tell the communists in California to take a flying leap. If they want to enforce these laws, then they need to devote the resources to do it themselves. Brokers are not the police. This is really getting past the point of insanity.

Congrats- you said something that I totally agree with.

I was at a shippers today, eavesdropping on a conversation in which a manager was telling someone that as of Jan. 1 they will not load a truck unless it has a CARB certificate.

I have about 3 good reasons for staying in Cali, otherwise I'd be setting up in Idaho right now.

This exemption of 5000 miles in state annually would be a reasonable and a great solution for most people. It would work perfectly for my situation since Im only in state about 500 miles a month, when leaving or coming back home. I hope it gets passed!
Yet at the same time enforcement of the carb rule and with this exemption will be that much more difficult. And I expect the problem of having to fight, after the fact, tickets that come from uninformed dot and chp officers. And if the enforcement of the rule falls on the shoulders of shippers/receivers and brokers, under the treat of large fines, will it really be feasible.
