I can go home, and stay there for any amount of time I choose. As long as I make the truck and insurance payments they don't care. However, stitting at home don't pay the bills. That's a fact regaurdless of who you lease to or even if you are independent. Sitting at home for to long leads to business failure. It's the nature of this beast we call OTR.
I give up some freedom to choose the destination of the loads I pull, but I gain in the ability to have steady miles, i.e. I don't have to sit and wait for the load that will at least allow me to break even so I can move my truck, and guess what, that might mean I will have to go someplace I don't want to.I don't have the headache of looking for and booking those loads. Nor do I have to worry if the customer/broker will pay. -

Again I utilized their purchse power to buy my truck. It is a 9400i Skyrise 72" sleeper International Eagle package. The purchase price was $88,500. The same truck at a dealer would have been over a $100k. The truck was financed at 7.5% for 60 months. I have excellent credit and being a first time truck buyer no one else would finance me for less than 13% -
No wonder he was looking into that. It sounds like good pay security. I wonder if there are any that will accept older trucks.
