its true, I have held a few different jobs in different fields and every single one had things I hated greatly about them but quitting will just get you into another job that might be the same or even worse.

The biggest problem these days is that the younger generation does not even want to work.

But a SF can impact your bouns pay. If it goes down in rank you can lose some money. Plus1 is like taking an arrow to the knee.

Bonus pay is calculated on miles driven in a given time period, service failures have nothing to do with it.
You don't lose miles by getting a sf.

It is based solely on ranking - bronze, silver, gold..., and the number of preventable accidents has an impact on ranking.
But in the ranking system, service failures don't.
Drop below a certain percentage of on-time loads and you get fired, plain and simple.

its crazy how many do get SF's and how often, there are some who do get them often...

I know a couple weeks ago when I was in Lathrop waiting to give some lease contracts to the dispatcher she had a guy on the phone who was shut down in Wesley putting in a 22 he was a whole day late and she was telling him she was sending a repower and he was getting all peed off on the phone with her. She stated a hour late even a few hours late is one thing but a whole day is out of the question, I didnt hear his excuse but I remember her even telling him he had available hours and was not using it.

Sometimes I just dont understand drivers, I know some are lazy but sheesh...

    I've had 4 now.

2 were clearly my own fault. I overslept and was a couple hours late.

1 was due to accident traffic a few miles from my destination, and the last because my delivery time was set nearly 4 hours earlier than what I agreed to in the pplan.
The first one wasn't taken off, and I'm still waiting to hear about the second.

That has been in a 3 year time period, and I am still above 99% on time.

I remember you talking about the accident one, that one is just plain bull and should get removed.

As for over sleeping I havent done it yet but I always worry about it, I set 4 different alarms on my phone with all different tones to get me up and once in awhile I change the tones to new stuff since my brain seems to get used to certain noises and will just bleed into a dream instead of waking me.

The accident one has already fallen off, as it's been more than a year.

Ya, with the odd hours and sometimes very short sleep times, it can be difficult to wake up on time.
I try to give myself more time on loads so I can take longer than a strict 10 hour sleep break. I need more time to get to sleep, get decent sleep, and wake up to drive - than 10 hours.
Usually I can, sometimes not. It is those short breaks that are the hardest.
And I've fallen short a couple times and overslept.

Ahh they do, but for those rankings your SF rate almost has to be at the point you will be fired before it impacts your ranking ... but you do need to be above 99.8% on time for platinum and depending on the number of loads, even 1 SF will drop you down to gold, regardless of your miles.

yeah it does get hard since you have to factor in eating, shower, winding down etc. Sometimes I only sleep 5-6 hours by the time I finally fall asleep. The last couple days I have been sleeping in to almost 9am, I know one day I apologized to the DM im working for right now that I overslept, he tells me we are not moving loads so there is no over sleeping or being late. As long as I haul the trailers he doesnt mind too much what time of the day I do it and next week I might just start doing them in the night since now im hauling trailers to Vernon and Baldwin park and that traffic is killing me on the 15 and 210. Yesterday it took me 6 hours to drive to Otay Mesa, today took me a couple extra hours trying to get to Adelanto so I am thinking if I begin around 9pm I can do twice as much and just stop after the DM begins his shift where i give him the trailer numbers I hauled.
