Answers for the swift drivers..not recruitment

heavier loads are better too in extreme conditions especially when its windy. A vet also gave me a tip when your in bad winds if you slide the tandems all the way back it reduces wind under the trailer, how true im not sure but maybe some other vets can say yay or nay to this, just make sure you can do it in the state your in since some states like CA require the kingpin settings.

I see Swifties doing that kind of stuff too, sometimes.
I more often see drivers, either other companies or O/O doing it.

 

im normally the swifty making the other trucks mad because I will sit and wait for plenty of space to pull out, I rather take my time and avoid a collision.

 

Me too.
I go slow in truck stops, and at shippers and receivers. Never above the posted speed limit.

We are big and slow, which means I try never to hurry.

 

yeah but its surprising how many think its a darn race track or their in such a hurry they think 1 minute will make a big difference. That 1 minute saved could turn into hours wasted if you hit something and have to sit and do reports etc. I would rather lose the minute saved any day of the week, there is no load important enough for me to be reckless.
