I'm retired now but 2 years ago I was at the Pride. 4 lizards in an hour and a half around 6-7 Pm. I an old hand and should have known better than to sit in the driver's seat with the light on doing my paperwork and mapping my deadhead to NJ for later in the evening. Made myself a target.
What are the safest and most dangerous truckstops??

The twin Pilots in Memphis do make me nervous. I do like the Pilot in Des Moines. There is always a spot on the lot and easy to get in and out.

There's none that really bothered me. The couple that have more extra curricular activity which I closed my curtains was the Birmingham, AL Pilot and the Gary, IN Pilot. Both have armed guards. That ought to be your first clue it's a tough neighborhood.
I don't know if it's still open but stay away from the old Jersey City, NJ Truck stop. That is crack head central. 3 blocks west is a restaurant with 7-8 truck parking I use to stay at when there. It has heavy cop traffic since the HQ is right around the corner. They are scared to bother trucks there. Great food too! It's right under the west side of that black bridge if you need a landmark.Speedloader Thanks this. -

There are twin pilots in Memphis too. One has an Arby's and the other has a subway
