My husband asked me to ride with him to see how the company operates in hopes that we would run teams, the only time he saw a check was right after training. After you pay for the truck you are driving, the insurance, ridealong, the fuel n a satellite navigation log that needs to go in the trash you have no money.N if you guys don't have no sense of direction or don't know how to read a map it will have you in a ditch or doing circles on a road you have no business being on. N the people thats in the office what can I say but they need to be retrain if they was train at all, they don't want to answer their phones and no one ever knows what's going on. The night shift never knows what the day shift has put out n the day shift doesn't know anything period n the weekend is just lost. Ohh if you don't like being hm then trans am is perfect for you, cause you can put in for home time two weeks early n it wouldn't make a difference cause you still want get it but they will inform you they will work something out. It doesn't matter where you ask for hm time or when you put in for hm time, they will make sure you are far away from where you need or want to be. When you finally do get there, you might have a day, before they are calling you cause someone forgot or just plain didn't put it in the system that you had home time. Like I said these people need to be retrained. As much as I love going over the road I was more then happy to get out of their truck. I never seen a company that gives you more stress then you need being on the road n always leave you in the negative week after week.
Want to drive for free n never go home, then Trans Am is your place

Why do I insist on these reading posts? I know a couple of Drivers that started out there and yes Trans Am has some issues but they were "company" Drivers. I guess my question is how did your husband got swindled into a lease? Sometimes I wonder if some of these negative posts are by the same person but just using a different screen name. Lol! Because it is always the story.
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
Plus, if your a lease driver... don't you get to pick how much time you have off ?
No offense but from reading your post... it seems your husband allowed himself to be a victim. -
I hate spelling and gremmer natzizevd Thanks this.

I looked at going there before I came to Ozark and they told me that since I was experienced the only thing I could do was lease. Obviously I declined and for good reason.
-
They told me as a lease driver you still have to go by company driver home time schedule. Also they said if you refuse loads as a l/o you had to speak with ops manager and more than 1 a week could result in a termination of contract. Not really an incentive to lease there IMHO.Bumper Thanks this.

Nice racket they have going. Treat you like a company driver but all expenses are on you. I thought the whole point of leasing is to "be your own boss." So much for that. I'm just wondering about the OP, it says in her profile that either she or the husband has 13 years experience. They should have known better.

I'm at company driver here at Ozark and I have way more freedom and money than a trams am lease op. of course that's the difference between a good company and then trans am.

Glorified company driver where you get to pay to be a driver... Basically it falls into this.... The drivers are paying Trans Ams business expenses for them and paying to be a company driverDna Mach Thanks this.
