Hey all. I have a friend(and no it's not me-my record is clean), who has some priors-refusal to take alcohol test, i think possible felony which i think was dropped. He did time in the clink and rehab.
Anyways, it doesn't sound like he has a chance to get a driving job with anyone for some time. Was wondering are there any companies, perhaps the smaller 'mom and pop' operations that might hire him?
My buddy is a good guy, just needs a second chance ya know? Been thru alot of personal s*it.

Any advice wold be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No missjhawk. He was driving his car. He has yet to drive a big rig for a company. He is a new driver. He did drive class b for about a year though.

Tell him it's possible....but it will be an up-hill battle for him. Lots of folks have the mind-set that it should be a non-starter in trucking ( myself included)..but there are places that will hire him. Just be sure and let him know just how hard it will be moving forward , and that his chances of getting hired at a really good company are sort of slim. Let him know that he needs to ask around 1st before laying out a good bit of cash or going into debt for schooling that will not do him any good. Lots of recruiters will paint him a lovely picture , knowing all along that he will not have a chance of finding work. Schools too will do the same....have him contact a few companies and find out for himself 1st then move forward if he can...

awe ok, if this did not happen in the county he lives in he had nothing 2 worry about if he wasn't charged dac only look in the counties he lived in if he lived in present county less than 3 years they will look in his previous address county but if there is any doubt he needs 2 go 2 district court and get a copy of his record and if the incident happen in different county go there when I got my history it cost me $5 that way if it's not on there he don't have 2 bring it up job hunting

Not bring up a a refusal to take an alcohol test and a jail term served....I'm sorry but missjhawk..if you don't know what you're commenting about just don't give advice.....telling the man to not come clean when job hunting is the worst......
