Okay, you have a couple of strikes against you in improving fuel mileage. First, most likely the truck is geared for off road work, which means that the rpm has to be high to run at those road speeds. I run a Mack and run 65 mph at about 1450 rpm. If you are turning much over that point at road speeds, you are turning the engine way too tight to get it's best fuel mileage.

Secondly, while there are many uses for the Allison trans, they are best in stop and go work such as a trash truck. On a regular dump like yours, there is a lot of efficency lost in the Allison. It's just the nature of a automatic trans, since all it really operates on is fluid drive between two rotors, as opposed to a direct link up between a clutch and a drivetrain.

As for what you can do, get the rpm down if possible, even if you have to drop speeds back to 55-58 mph. Every rpm you turn takes more fuel to do, so try to do your work with the least possible rpm. Unfortunately, the Allison gets it's shift signals from the rpm rising, so you may not be able to operate at lower rpm in the lower gears. Check with a Mack and/or Allison rep and see if there are any programming changes to the trucks software that will allow it to get better mileage, such as changes in the shift points and rpms.

If there aren't changes that can be made, think seriously about getting out of the truck while, the reasle value is still fairly high. Usually, dirt equpment brings more in spring when the work starts to ramp up, and is lowest at late fall a slowdowns come into play.

Hard wire are you getting a documented 30% savings a week like they claim?

snake oil it seems to me. Hydogen producion by means of electroysis has always been a net loss of energy. Meaning it took more energy put into the unit then you would get out of the unit. WHen you factor in the ineficiency of the automotive alternator it would get even worse.
So unless this guy building what appears to be nothing more than I could build in my garage has developed a scientific breakthrought that would revolutionize the hydrogen vehicle sciences......

It seems to me if it really worked all that well (30%) gain all the big trucking companies would be crapping all over themselves to get a hold of one of these for each truck. That would make a lot of money for old Swifty, SNI, JB etc etc.

right, that is a HUGE claim.

Hydrogen i easy to make and it does burn good. it's just never been eonomically sound.
Also if it is producing enough energy to increase efficiency by 30% I'd be worried about piston life.
This part I'd have to look into, but he is claiming hydrogen as a combustion improver kind of like Nitrous is for gas or propane is for diesel but I've never heard this. I've only heard it as a combustable itself. I'm not sure.
I've said before I tinker with things. I've produced hydrgen before, it's pretty cool. Good science experament if you have kids. Just don't expect to be powering your house with it.

Did you take a look at their website? Google search "hydrocolorado" you'll find it.

ya I saw it. that why I said nothing more than I could build in my garage.

A trip to home depot, and auto zone could get you that for $100 including the fan driven cooler

Make me one, I'll send you $100 IF it works, then we'll market it and sell it just like these guys are for $400.

    #### if I don't have it all worked out. :D :D

I'd probably be making a profit at $100 alone. I could do one unit for free. It looks like I have all of that in my shed. Not sure what he's using for an electrode though
