Prime Dedicated

Does anyone know if Prime runs any dedicated outta the Tyson in Union City, TN? It's about 15 minutes from my house and I see Prime drivers pulling in there all the time when I'm around going by.

 

I would ask your FM. It couldn't hurt. I was offered my route, I didn't even know there was a tyson plant that close to my house lol. Prime had bout 3-4 trucks running dedicated out of it all goin to harmony, pa. Was pretty nice, always knowing where your headed and knowing the way like the back of your hand. don't get any better then that lol.

But shoot your fm a msg for sure amd ask. Ain't no harm in that.

 

Yeah there's definitely advantages to running dedicated. I haven't started Prime yet but that'll definitely be something I ask about.

 

how far away is Shelbyville from your home? prime runs the walmart dc there.

 

Bout 3-3 1/2 hours from home. I'm pretty sure that'd be too far... Or would it work if I was routed going through or near my hometown?

 

I'm not sure. I've had to go to a drop yard in Indianapolis and pick up two trailers from two different drivers that ran for the Oniely, IL walmart dc. those two drivers were on hometime. so I think it could be possible. one of the drivers who ran the aame dedicated route I did, he lived 2hrs away from the tyson plant. he would get to stop by home on the way back from pa to Arkansas each week.

 

Do you know where Shelbyvillle runs to? My home is 3 hours west of Shelbyvillle so it'd prolly hafta be headed somewhere west. Michigan or up northeast prolly wouldn't work

 

Shelbyville is kinda a local gig. they deliver to walmarts around the area. super easy gig thats for sure. I ran some loads for the walmart dc in Maine for a week last year. I was jealous of the guys who did it all the time.

 

also, I know I run thru TN A LOT. so even if ya didn't get a dedicated, getting thru tn happens a lot. I been to the americold in Murfreesboro more times then I can count.

 

Interesting.. I've always loved the middle Tennessee area. I might hafta talk to the family about moving to Shelbyvillle lol I kinda assumed I'd just go OTR but I think I'll find out more about dedicated around here.
