yeah, I love the reserved parking when I'm OD. I pull into a lot at sunset, and if I can't find a spot, I take a reserved spot. Go in, take a shower, eat, make sure it's nice and dark outside, then inform the fuel desk where I am. Always get the standard line, "you can't park there without paying" or "we'll call the cops". Go ahead. Did have one show up in Mount Vernon "suggesting" I move. Nope, I didn't. He left, I didn't pay, and have been doing it ever since.

Hey, I support them. I buy their fuel, I eat in their restaurants, sometimes buy their showers...all I want is someplace to park. And I found it with the reserved spaces

you will be just fine til youre in a space I have already paid for, try it at Nashville t/a downtown and see what happens to ya and clintonstain you still greatly exaggerated the number of reserve spaces at Roanoke.

well, if I'm OD and can't move after dark, I don't plan on going anywhere. Even the State Patrol will tell you that. I don't care if you paid for a spot or not...if I gotta shut down due to the law, I'm gonna do it.

"they" always say "plan your trip accordingly"... well, I can't really do that if 1/4 of the spaces a truck stop used to have are now "reserved" spaces. I don't know of any website or app that will tell me while I'm moving if there will be parking up the road or not. so when I get somewhere that doesn't have parking, my choice is reserved, or fuel island. Yeah, I've had THAT conversation a time or two.

    Safety first pumpkin!

It's the "free market" dealing with the scarcity of a resource (parking)... the price WILL settle the difference between demand (trucks milling about) and the availability of the resource. It looks like the Not In My Backyard crowd will make sure that it's difficult getting more parking put up. It is what it is, and folks... there will be more paid parking in the future as the number of trucks on the road increases. Like it or not...

well then simply pay for the reserved spots you use, its simple. what I do for example is I simply reserve and pay for the spots ahead of time when I have an o/d or going into a congested area with a lack of parking. its easy for anyone to do.

If I have paid for a spot ahead of time and you are in it, I guess you will be at the fuel island when ya have to move . its basically dishonest, no matter how you choose to justify it.

several of the facilities, like downtown Nashville t/a and others have begun policing the reserved parking pretty well

I doubt T/A's stock price has doubled since they instituted reserved parking.

In the grand scheme of things the income from reserved spaces is microscopic. It is done as a service to drivers who absolutely need a space. The majority of the lot is free parking so all the Pilot/Love's scumbags fill up the T/A after fueling at the gas 'n git stops.

Wait till a wrecker hooks up to you, if you're in a spot I reserved, you'll move, I don't care if you're OD or not.

Once you stop hauling cheap freight you might be able to afford the few bucks...
