When Walmart started advertising for drivers a few months back, I asked both my Ops Mgr and HR Mgr if we could now discuss our pay openly. Their response was "Yes". Since the ads on Sirius/XM quoted an average starting wage of $76K then yes we can now be open. So here goes. My first 12 months I grossed $88K, my next 12 months including safety bonus is a tick over $100K. None of that waiting years to work your way up the board to decent runs and income. A year one guy is in the money without having to sit home all January. Enough of us being coy. Let the numbers out and the quality drivers will be more interested in hiring on. Walmart isn't perfect but they are better than 99% of the other options and yes they pay for quality drivers. It isn't easy to get on but it's worth the effort.

I just filed away my last pay sheet and checked my trips. I work part time. Usually two days a week, sometimes 3 or 4. Doesn't really matter. Pay sheet covers two weeks. I ran 2995 miles the last pay period. I made $2288.56. Do the math. The whole company has went down hill in the 15 1/2 years I've been there. It isn't anything like ol' Sam would like now. Truckin' is not as good either. But, as you can see it is still a great place for a truck driver to make a really good living.

(Boys, if they can still argue with these last few posts, you know the kind of driver we are dealing with here......if they really even are a driver, who knows on the WWW:biggrin_2556:)
