    Squonk,
I noticed for me that driving this beat up equipment just bangs me up and wears me out. I can't wait to drop my trailers and go to bed. I get pretty long runs every night usually with one via, so not bad. Most of my 11 hours is driving but what can you expect in a 55 mph zone. Same ugly looking scenery on the 5 freeway gets old and boring. Glad I mostly work nights.

Heard you union guys are gonna be taking a vote soon.hope that works out for ya, heard it's not looking good though.

Funny you mention that. Last Sunday, I had one that was so bad (0 suspension), that it broke my cb radio & re-injured an old injury (sprained neck). If I ever get one THAT bad again, I'm having them swap it out. I told my boss this as well. Anywho, I am officially on vacation. :)

Cool35 I don't blame you. I miss the scenery when I was at YRC going every where. Now I know why you get bored of the same route. I was never a fan of NYC Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. But a lot of times i m on my head set ( blue parrot) or listening to the radio. It is nice having a radio in the truck and I got a thing to play my iPod through the radio.

Squonk I know that feeling. My old truck was a beater, no suspension very bouncy... Only reason I used it was because it was one of the few road units we got. Recently one of the newer trucks wasn't being used as the guy no longer uses it so I asked the TM and he had no problem letting me use it. Its a 09 similar to the Volvo below but with the gray and brown paint. This thing is POWERFUL. I had 35k and only needed to downshift when I had to slow down. It does go quite a bit faster than it says it is, normally our trucks do 68

    Squonk,
Have a good vacation! I've been on a vacation of sorts myself, not by choice though.

    ACH,
I also have my Ipod hooked up and it saves me. My CB has been broken for a long time now and no one talks on them like they used to around here.

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna get a walkie talkie to keep in my bag to use when I need it.

I got a mini vacation this week, got Thursday and Friday off!!!

@Cool35 all of our trucks have stereos hooked up in them which is nice. I got an FM transmitter for my iPod but my new truck has an aux port so I plug it in. Heck the trucks are even set up to put CBs in them. I got a cheap radio shack one thats 20 years old from my dad but it does the job. I even got my own CB Handle (Smoke Eater, from my FD days.) I just haven't had a chance to put it in, too many snotty people in metro NY and NJ.
