I agree they took advantage of the situation, but I'm curious, was the load you got from emptying early worth the $100 to $200?

This is a new thing with the mega brokers. TQL charged me $150 for being an hour late. I paid it, but CHR and TQL are both on the golf course talking about how they can be more alike. Anyone else on here want to haul something for these jerks and take a chance on being charged for it?

Why is so hard for people to follow directions?

Yea, that's just what I was saying.

I been curious all day myself on what load paid and worth it and also hasn't said if restrictions on delivery were in contract. Only know one side and very partial facts.

Seems to me if the driver contacts the consignee, asks for an earlier appointment time, and is accepted, that becomes the new appointment time, and is NOT an "unscheduled" arrival. You're CHANGING the schedule, with the receiver OKing the change. Unless the rate confirmation specified a concrete delivery time and disallowed changes, they're skimming more of your money off and ought to have their feet held in the fire for it IMNSHO

Everyone is not always happy to see a load early before scheduled appt for whatever reason. Delivery time should have been negotiated. CHR covers their bases. It's always a good idea to read confirms closely even though they all look the same. There's a reason check calls are all the same a monotonous with CHR. They repeat stuff 3 times over every call. If something is going to be out of the norm it's a good idea to call or email with questions til you get answers. They document everything. Do what was agreed to and you shouldn't have problems.

Thats why I love flatbed. Customers love to see you even when you are early. May take a few minutes for them to clear a spot for it but they won't send you away like cold/dry storage warehouses and be complete ##### about it. I've never been turned away on a flatbed load. Only issue which isn't really an issue at all is showing up on, say, a Sunday afternoon to get unloaded Monday morning when really you aren't due until Tuesday or Wednesday morning.

Awww man, thats ###### up! I'd tell them if they don't want that load disappearing into thin air then that early delivery fine better disappear because the load can make a hell of a lot more cash on the street.379exhd Thanks this.

Thats one thing that they really pissed me off with is calling numerous times a day asking the same thing. "Where ya at? When ya gonna be there?" In reality I would be picking up a load in Wyoming going to New Jersey and still have enough time to drive to Florida and a spend a day at Disney land and still get to my drop early. Been a couple of times where I just wanted to chunk the #### phone out of the window.
