Most recently I've driven an '03 KW, teaming with my O/O brother, that was so loud I had to wear ear plugs at times. After several attempts he figured out a way to seal off the doors so when we had a hard side wind it wouldn't whistle so loud. However, they don't call them Detroit Screamin' Demons for nothing. The roar of the engine and whine of the turbo was deafening.
Now I'm driving a '12 Cascadia. It's so quiet I can't hear the turbo. Quiet in the cross winds. You can have a normal conversation without shouting and you can play music low and still hear everything.dennisroc Thanks this. -

I think the freight "shaker" moniker has to come from models previous to the Cascadia. By far the smoothest, quietest ride I've ever had.

Dont let these guys fool ya, the freightshaker is alive and well. The cascadia is quiter, but still vibrates way more than it should. My laptop lasted 8 months before things started to not work from the constant vibration.
