That is the bare minimum requirements. Frankly, I know of no one who has gotten in with the bare minimum requirements. The least I have seen is 7 years experience, although I am sure there are some with less.

Here is a quote from another gentleman who is trying to get hired on. He has been a driver for 17 years.

It is a good enough job to make it your goal. This is what I did. Keep your nose clean and work towards it. This job really is worth it. There are few trucking jobs better, and you will be treated better.............. nowhere.

I guess it depends on the debt to income. I know our six figure guys look like a bloodhound when they get finished up for the day before racing home to see if Jody left any beers

That's the difference we don't kill our self for it. Plenty of rest everyday and quality home time.

You go home on your 5th day. You then have a full 2 days off, plus the partial day from your 5th day. I have never been better rested and less stressed.

    NYVET and grabberblue12 Thank this.

5 days out is much better than 3 weeks out with only 3 days off. Less stress and when its my day to go home there is no "well we will see if we can find you something going that way" or "we got a load going in the opposite direction of your home". No missing my home time by two or four days past.

    grabberblue12 Thanks this.

I left a job driving a day cab making good money because of not getting quality rest. I got home in time to eat dinner shower and go to sleep. yes I was home every day just to pass my wife on the way to bed.

now I get quality rest every day and when I get home I am rested and ready for quality family time. I got home last night (friday ) at 800 and dont go back until tuesday morning at 0800.... tough schedule i know...:biggrin_2551:
