10-4 I don't know one way or the other. I know when you're a student in training I've seen pay scales as low as .20/mile and if they're taking out per diem that is very possible that his son is down to .15...or lower. Its also possible that the milage pay was an exaggeration. We don't know for sure. I believe the sexual harassment. I've seen that happen before. I had a hard time believing a drivers lounge being shut down guess anything is possible though especially after your confirmation I can say for a fact my ### would be all over dispatch about cab fare and a hotel room. Not my fault their truck broke down and my ### wouldn't be freezing. If they refused I'd be driving a gear down for 100 miles the next day...they just ate the cost of that hotel room after the extra fuel usage.

What some companies do makes you wonder...kinda reminds me of southern refridgerated.

Listen to him.I do know alittle bit about this industry and also hazmat.I have the endorsement and hauled hazmat for a few yrs.A company is a company. Many have the same policies in place. If knight closes the lounge for the night then that's understandable. But the poster fails to mention that .There was a member on here who believed his grandson about everything concerning crengland and come to find out grandson lied about everything. My womens intuition was correct about that.I do not come on here acting like I know everything.I just give advice. Is'nt that what the forum is for????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Seems im not the only one who feels this story isn't the whole truth. The sexual harassment thing, yes it happens at companys,my question is why didn't the guy step in and defend her?

Knight had three terminals (Atlanta, Denver, Minneapolis), that I am aware of, that closed after business hours because they were basically just drop lots, even though they did have dispatchers, etc. during the day. They really didn't have "driver's lounges" per se, although you could use the bathroom, etc., during business hours.

All three have been upgraded to full terminals with showers, lounge, and 24 hr access. Knight spends a lot on terminal amenities for the drivers.

People keep posting these horror stories about Knight, and they are just not true. Knight may not be the greatest trucking company out there, but they are far from the evil organization that some would have you believe. 99% of the problems with Knight stem from the fact that they are tight with a penny (maybe that has something to do with their success?), they hire inexperienced office personal, and they don't have the best tractor/trailer ratio.

As for the "sexual harassment" allegations, NO large company, including Knight, will put up with this, the liability for suits is far too large. It may have happened, but the "harasser" would be out of a job in a heartbeat. Just economics.

And no, I am not an "office puke".

I have no problem with people who have worked for a company questioning a new forum members' post about a particular company. tractq144, I have read your posts about Knight and even if I disagree with what you might have said, I know at least it comes from actual experience with Knight! When forum members who have never worked for Knight or any company seem to jump on any new members who have something negative to say--I draw the line!
Let me paraphrase what pattyj said---'I never heard of any driver being shut out of a drivers lounge ,therefore it couldn't have happened!' --.Did you ever set foot in a Knight terminal? 'I never see flatbeds in South Sioux City,NE carrying Hazmat, therefore it doesn't happen!' Another driver told you to open your eyes in that thread! 'K&B Transportation always treats me good, therefore everybody who has something negative to say about my company must have done something wrong!' Gee pattyj remember that pissing contest you started with another lady driver who dared to challenge you on K&B and you threatened to find out the 'rest of the story' on her from K&B?---didn't take long for that thread to be locked!
I am sure the White Knights of the Internet will appear any moment in your defense pattyj---maybe I'll even be bannned for challenging you but anyone who posts 5,800 times in less than two years--- most of it drivel needs--to be challenged!

I call this BS if you ask me. First 15 cents a mile ? No way would they pay him that lmao. I used to work for Knight Trans years ago. Got more miles than I could use ! Heck they kept me running and I made money. Yes there was some lean times but all truckers know it happens. The guy is just bashing from hear say not facts he seen first hand. For all we know his son got fired for messing things up. I'm retired now, off the road for good. I sure miss it out there big time.

You stated Knight closes the Driver's Lounge at night time? Dude I am a knight driver and i went to every Knight terminal and not a single one was closed at night time. Before you post Bull make sure your story is real. Fairytales are not allowed. Now if you are talking about where the dispatchers work out of then yes that part of the terminal is locked up at night time even if there are night dispatchers in there.
If my truck is in the shop for the night and i have no access to it then yes i get a hotel room that is paid for by Knight. The thing to do is find out from the shop ahead of time if it will be out of the shop, if it is able to run and the weather for the night. If not all you need to do is see the dispatchers and they get the hotel room for you.

This probably coming from a newbie that knows nothing about Knight Transportation?
Maybe it comes from someone who got booted from knight because you couldn't do the right thing?

So you been driving for a year and are an expert on Knight? You calling me a liar? My time with Knight was three years ago and the SLC, KC and Idaho Falls terminals for an example would close at night. Sometimes it was the weekly fumigation job , other times who knows.Like I mentioned in my post every terminal was treated as its own profit center and you're lucky your home terminal gave you motel room, what is your home terminal Carlisle? During the heighth of the recession Knight cut way back even laying off local drivers in Phoenix who had been there from the beginning and forcing them to drive OTR or look for another job!
