Hey guys I'm starting school Dec.16th to get my CDL class A I used to drive otr but in a class b and drove team most the time and was wondering on there team operations do they run you like a team and do they pair you with someone in your area or do you have to have someone when you get hired? I understand i'll be with a trainer for a while do you know around how much a student will bring home starting out?
Thanks for any info and be safe

They run you like a team. If you have a team partner that is the best way. If not they will pair you with someone that either lives in richmond or near where you live. The pay for a new student is 16 cents per mile, then after so many miles your trainer will have you put into the second phase which brings you up to 20 cents per mile. When you are nearing the end you will be put with a finisher like myself for a few weeks earning the same. During your training you will be paid for all miles dispatched. I am finishing up with a driver right now that ran 14090 miles with me the last two weeks so he is making 2190 dollars for this pay period. He is being cut loose when we get back go richmond on Monday to get his own truck. I think true teams split 48 cents per mile.

In some aspects they are smaller than the 780 but the real mattress goes a long way. I love my 780 because its roomy and drives like a dream but I can honestly say I wont miss the weak low beams at all. The KW's should be a great improvement in that area at least!

Those are some good miles how long are you with a trainer roughly and you get paid bi-wkly. ? do they require hazmat and is it 1 day off for every 7 out?
Thanks for the Info Johnboy I have heard a lot of good things about them

    .
I don't understand why would they put teams in kw and not 780. The 780 has a lot more room than a kw. What gives.

I'd say it all depends on what kind of deal they get with each manufacturer. Can someone who works there clarify on whether I'm close to being right???

i only drive on weekends (sat and sun) until I join the green machine in jan. but the company I drive for has only teams for over the road and 95% are in 780 and all love them and the few that are not in them can't wait to get in them. In case your wondering the other 5% are in cascadias.
