Imagine getting caught on camera one time for yawning, then fired with DAC report "driving while fatigued".
As for the 2nd thing, yeah company would probably make some popcorn and watch. Mean while other drivers sending messages and calling, wondering why dispatch isn't responding.
Does Millisecond have camera's in truck ?

"Oh, Mah, GAWD! Like, TEH driver wasn't even in his seat, like, y'know? He was picking his nose/texting/pulling his pud/snorting a line of coke off his wheel rim when he RAMMED ME HEAD ON (while looking at the crumpled trunk of the car)!!!1!1!!"
<CabVision>drivers is alert, watching the road and mirrors properly during event</CabVision>
<DashCam> valley girl's hooptie swerved hard into lane just ahead of truck and immediately brakes so hard the front bumper scrapes the ground for the millisecond before the entire field of view explodes into a shower of parts and sparks</DashCam>
Couple that with the ABS and airbag sensor logs in the car, and it's clear the driver is exonerated.
Go work for retail, I'm surprised they don't have cameras in the bathrooms looking to exhaust port insertions...
True, except that the driver could claim someone else was posting to Facebook for him; and having absolute proof SHOULD stop the problem... I did say "should"...
Or: "...your actions will prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that you did nothing wrong despite the sworn assertions of anyone else who was not there--whether they be other drivers, those that caused the accident, or even law enforcement, who we know will bend the truth on occasion to make themselves look better..." -
Then I'm already fired, because I'll yawn at the oddest times. Recently, it was when I would be having a conversation: I'd start talking, and the yawns would take over :wtf: No, not fatigued; no, not bored; just my body decided at that moment that it was a good idea to vent CO2/increase O2 levels/stretch the jaw, face, tongue, and ears/increase alertness/cool the brain
So, yeah, I don't think yawning is a good indicator of fatigue... -
Yep. We are all owned by the insurance companies now, thanks to ObamaCare.

Try telling that to NJ DOT.

I almost have no problem with a company camera pointed outward, as there are lots of cameras in public from businesses, street cameras, toll booths, other drivers dash cams, etc, but when its being done by your own company to monitor drivers and whip them, it can also get abused.
Imagine your DAC report saying "Failure to maintain lane control" cause you went over the dotted line? There could be several reasons for this, such as changing lanes, animal in the road, pot hole, emergency vehicle on the side, etc etc, and they may not care to see the whole big picture of what happened, except your wheels drifted over the line. -
"Hell, Dr. G? Would it be possible to get you to write me a letter explaining the latest research on yawning and how it's not an indicator of fatigue in an otherwise well-rested and alert person/driver? Gee, thanks, I really appreciate that!"

I guess that puts the kaybosh on my habit of *just* running over the lane buttons on either side once in awhile...
