I am currently attending school to get my CDL, I will be finishing next Friday and want to know which companies pay the most competitive rates for students coming right out of school? I have searched online but most companies do not list their pay scale online. I appreciate any suggestions I get. Thanks!:)

Too many variables, such as milage pay and assessorial pays. Don't just look at milage pay. High milage pay doesn't mean much if you run few miles such as local or regional unless the assessorial pays are really good. Focus on tankers or flatbed for the best annual pay for a new driver. Hopefully you have the tanker/hazmat, TWIC, passport because that leads to the best pay for new CDL graduates.

I appreciate it, I do have tanker endorsement and a passport and I'm working on obtaining my hazmat endorsement. But I'm still confused on how to obtain a TWIC card.

Google will show the nearest TWIC office to you. They will take your picture, fingerprints, some papeprwork to fill out.

One of the reasons so many fail in this industry is they ecspect to get rich because recruiters and schools lead them to believe that.

(To be fair, that should read "one of the many reasons")

Local jobs. Waste management and BFI. move through the ranks well paying career. sure it's not glamorous. but well paid move up the ranks to earn pay and learn different equipment/environments.

Moving up the $ ladder. The best driver companies never advertise in the classifieds.

TMC transport is one of the highest paying jobs for newbies. They are flatbed, so you will work harder, but if you do you will make great money. They have one of the best training programs to. I made 64k my first year and even more after i became a trainer. Most new drivers average .45/mile on their % pay scale. most van companies pay mid .20's for newbies.
