Google Maps now gets some Traffic Data from Waze(App) somehow.

What if the TND GPS could as well. Through Wifi of course.

There are a few traffic providers. More goes on in the background business wise than just hooking to Wi-Fi and pulling traffic.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Google bought waze so essentially they are the same program cause they share data. I wish we could use the google map road data as google maps seems to have the updates way before anyone else.

    double yellow Thanks this.

There are differences I cannot go into as to the differences in map databases.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Mark, I have a TND 700 with the latest updates, when it shows the roadway view is there any way to shorten the time that it shows, or even turn this feature off as it stays on the screen way to long?

    Bizarre routing to/from Wallula Wa.

Portland to Wallula should be 84 to 730 to 12. It wanted to add 40 miles and go up 82 to 395 to 182 and then down 12. And even when on 730, it wanted to go on a 50-mile detour rather than turn left on 12...

    Wallula Wa to Pico Rivera, CA: 12 to 730 to 84 to 97 to 5. It wants to add 100 miles by going 12 730 207 395 84 95 80 5...

On both routings I tried various settings (fastest, shortest, loaded, empty, etc)

Any restrictions on that road? Length? Height? Weight?

None according to the RM atlas. It appears like the off-ramp connecting west-bound 730 with NB-12 has a(n erronious) restriction in the rm gps database, but that doesn'texplain why it didnt take 730 from 84 to 82.

Going to Pico Rivera, I was able to make it route correctly by adding the Pilot in Chemult, OR as a via -- so I don't think there are any bad restrictions -- just TND crazy routing that seems much more common out west.

Preferences/route/Junction view distance - toggle the "-" to off.

    Thanks,
    Mark
