I'm curious as to what those will do to the aerodynamics and fuel economy. 20yrs in the NE and I've only side swiped 2 and that was in the car.

On the east coast you see container haulers with all sorts of scaffolding and iron mongery hanging off the front end.

Yeah, looks like a bambi guard in our future... hate the xtra 1000lbs on my steers, further limits the cheap fuel I can bulk up on, oh well...
right now it's off to p.u. another load of chicken in AR and head to cali! Keeping fingrs crossed for a great trlr with full aero pkg and registration!

I remember KR saying on his radio show that you have to hit a deer once a year for a bambi killer to be worth having because it will cut your mileage by .5 mpg which to the average driver is about $5,000 a year. The worst thing you can do to something designed to be aerodynamic is put something on the front of it that isn't.

In 7 years of driving I hit one Elk that tore up a volvo and one yearling deer that didn't scratch a 379. The Elk took out most the hood, left headlight assembly, radiator, windshield, and driver side mirror. I was a little messed up too.

    flyboynme Thanks this.

    That's interesting info, folks, thx.
Has anyone out there hit a deer with one of those guards installed? any damage, time in the shop, etc? do you just wipe the bloody fur off and keep truckin?
