Ok, so, this is the first time in a while that I've been able to take the time to log onto TTR with my laptop as opposed to Tapatalk, so I can afford to be a bit more wordy than is the norm. Whether I choose to exercise that right or not is yet to be seen. :)

So, a bit of an update on my situation at present: I've got about 3650 miles on three trips this week, should have been two, but I had to swap loads with a team because Dodge City's Cargill had me waiting for my load o' cow butt for over 34 hours, and I couldn't solo that beast to Florida on time any more, which pushed my 'home time' back an extra day, meaning that I only get two off days before taking my stepfather to SPRIMO for PSD training. The positive to the swap, however, is that I got to run through the house en route, because my house is almost exactly halfway between SPRIMO and most every Florida run we have.

Now, on to Gainesville after my 90 finishes up, to spend Thanksgiving with the family, and take my stepfather up for his training which begins on the third.

I've begun the Bethel University classes, and I'm zooming right through them. In fact, through my misunderstanding of the deadline, I completed an entire class before the deadline for just the first unit.

During the writing of this post, I stopped and went to take the paperwork in to the 90's receiving office, and I slipped and fell. I can barely lift my arms or move my neck now, as well as banging up and scraping my shin and elbow pretty badly. This storm that has been following me since Denver has been out to get me, it seems. Went from 12 degrees on Sunday to nearly 80 degrees out now, from thick ice all over the road and my truck, to slick rain and puddles everywhere, with high winds and low visibility tossed in throughout the whole week. Finally reached a dry part here in Florida, then here comes the storm, tossing me on my back.

I'm hoping that it is just a muscle strain, rather than a pinched nerve or herniated disk, so I can recover fairly quickly and get back to work by Saturday morning. Otherwise, I'll have to spring for a bus ticket for my stepfather, and he'll get a different trainer, and I'll be out for the count. If I end up having to go to the VA, it could kill quite a bit of time, particularly if I have to try to make it back to Chatanooga first.

Well, at least I have a movie to watch.

JB that sucks! I see you wrote this 5 days ago. Did you get a chance to get to a doctor and find out if you did any serious damage? Jeeze, hope you get feeling better soon. I'm at the yard now. If you are around give me a shout!

Was nice to see you tonight. :)

Nope, didn't go to the doctor. Woke up the next morning, and it had already started easing enough. Good enough to get me to my mother's house. Stayed down for a couple days. Got my full range of motion back, though turning too fast or in certain directions, or lifting my arms too high still hurts. Should be right as rain in a few days.

Start CDL Instructor training tomorrow. Nice to have a full sized bed with bathroom and tv access.:)

Good to see you too JB. You will have to keep us informed on how being an instructor goes. Glad to hear you are recovering. Bed,bathroom and tv? I'm jealous. We are in the truck overnight. As soon as the under bunk heater gets repaired we should be good to go. Not the best time of year for that to be in disrepair! Have a safe journey.

JB, hope you're feeling better! Maybe a chiropractor would help? Had a couple of quick questions. Spoke with Seth ( my recruiter) yesterday and he said he had never heard of the VA Apprenticeship program where you can draw VA benefits for 12 mos. I saw earlier it was discussed that there was indeed the VA Apprenticeship program at Prime. Seth also quoted me $280 a week for driver and spouse for insurance with BCBS. Seems awfully expensive! Can anybody chime in with more info on these subjects! Thank you for your invaluable information for Prime hopefuls!!

That'd be the new rates on an ACA-compliant health care policy. IMO, keep your VA benefits for a real degree. You'll be paid to get your CDL, and it won't cost you anything.

I'll be coming in with my CDL so the extra income would be helpful over a year. Is anyone seriously expected to pay that( not Primes fault, just in general lol)???!!!

Yep, but depending on where your AGI falls you may be in for a subsidy when you file your taxes.

My service was far enough back that VA benefits didn't figure into it. AFAIK anything to do with the VA would be between you and them. Also, I'm not sure if Prime's PSD program would qualify for benefits.

BTW, you have to have health insurance in place by Dec 22nd to be in compliance with the law for January 1st.
