Hired but with warrant????

    Ok here's my situation, I'm a newbie and have been hired by a company driving regional. Here's the problem I have been searching heavily for a company to hire me with my checkered background, and luckily someones finally given me a chance, only to find out I have a misdemeanor warrant in Florida, a state I've never been in.

    I found out through one of the companies I was applying to about the charge, its from 1996 operating a water vehicle in a unauthorized area, I have no idea how this happened being how I was 16 at the time, never been to Florida or know anything about Florida. Yet in still the charge is there.

    So I alerted my recruiter of the situation, she informed me that it did not show up on my background check so she wasn't to worried about it, but she appreciated my honesty. Here the main thing though I'M STILL WORRIED ABOUT IT!!!!!!!! I mean who wouldn't be, this could be just a simple mistake, or something serious like identity theft.

    My question is this what would you do if it was you, go ahead go to the company don't worry about it (this isn't happening, as far as not worrying about it) just pay the fine (basically pleading guilty) to get the warrant removed, mind you its a misdemeanor and it would be on my record now instead of 96 thats my biggest problem with paying it off. Or maybe just wait to start driving until I get this all cleared up, but then the job I'm approved for might be filled after waiting, ugghhhh!!!!

    Your identity might have been stolen. Don't plead guilty if your innocent. Call Florida and get this resolved.

    Get a attorney and get it resolved before you are at a scale or on the roadside getting arrested for a warrant.

    Best thing would be to contact a lawyer to take care of it for you.... You don't want anything on your record for something you did not do. It already cost you one job so who knows what future holds if you wanna get a different job

    I would get in touch with the Court where the warrant is issued, normally that type of warrant is not extraditable which means if you are stopped they will not arrest you or take you to Florida to get it dealt with. I would tell the court you were not even there nor had you ever been there, I would not plead guilty to anything you did not knowingly do, Were you ever in Fl.? If not I would tell them that they have the wrong guy and since it goes back that far they may just drop it, I would not show up for the job if they are going to find this, they will put you on the next Grey Dog out of town. And report it to all involved giving you a black eye before you even get started!

    Don't lie. You know you were tearing up the streets of Florida in a water truck getting all the chicks that dig water trucks. You know 78 year old blue haired coffin dodgers that love their flower beds. Lol. Contact the state of Florida, explain the deal and contact the courts too, and be sure to check your credit if indeed your identity was stolen. Good luck to you.
