Yeah my trainer went over with me today about being honest on any mistakes. Not to lie, because id get fired in a heart beat.

Also i have a decent LED flashlight and also the LED strip that slips on the bill of a hat. They work quite nice and I appreciate the info.

Also, I found out a few nights ago that sticking a tank while its raining makes it VERY difficult to read!

If you use the same trailer every day carry 2 sticks.... Always try to keep them dry and keep the best one out of ulsd tanks... Over time it stains them making it harder to read...

    DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

Heres a little tip that might come in handy. I always carry with me a bottle of baby powder. When the stick gets hard to read, sprinkle a little powder on the stick, and you will get a crystal clear reading with any product. The minor amount of powder in the tank will not do any damage. It will just settle in with the sludge. I do carry two sticks with me though, and always have with you duct tape, and a few bungee cords, extra hose and fitting gaskets and a couple vice grips.

    Thanks for the info!

Unfortunate I cant get any extra hoses due to budget costs and stuff, they dont have extras laying around. Although I'll be sure to take note of everything else. I take a duffel bag with me to work every day with some stuff in it, paperwork and such. I can easily put some tools and duct tape inside.

Also, I passed my check ride today, the other trainer said I'll do just fine here. I'm pretty happy about that!

I'll be on my own tomorrow, I'm excited and nervous at the same time but I'm confident I'll do fine

Take your time, get into a routine, and don't rush ANYTHING! Over time you will get better with dropping, where to spot the truck/trailer, and your efficiency will improve! Enjoy hauling gas, I know I do. We are in winter season here, so everything is slow and cold!

Completed my first night shift, worked 5pm-4am. Had 2 split loads tonight, 4 stores.

Everything went great and I'm looking forward to working tonight. I love this job!

I will probably get a split when I go back Saturday for saying this, but I haven't had a split load in months! Have had a few diversions, but no dispatched splits. Work has been busy for us lately, snow/ice has really slowed us down, and people freak out with snowstorms/extreme cold, and buy gas before the storm hits! So be glad you get to deliver in sunny Florida, and don't deal with ice covered parking lots, lids that frozen/hidden under the ice/snow. Then once you get the lid off, your vapor pipe will need to be chipped free of ice so you can get your fitting on!

And its not always sunny here lol, last few nights and especially tonight it has gotten down in the 30's, i know thats nothing for yall lol, but for us its one heck of a chill haha

Haven't posted much lately. I've been busy running my butt off lol.

So far my paychecks have been more than expected for the work I did. Tomorrow is payday and I still have some left over from last paycheck which isn't normal for me, or hasn't been normal for me for the last year.

I now have an assigned truck, I share it with a day shift driver. He's a great guy and we both like to keep the truck clean so it works out perfect. I work 4pm-4am. I love this shift and I get off early most mornings.

Driving from Hawthorne to jax and back every day is 140 miles round trip. I'm going to start staying a few days in jax with my parents at their place so I can save money on gas.

Here's the truck, if it will attach the picture correctly
