I Have been talking with recruiters from all three of these companies. I know that i want to get my start in trucking as a flatbedder and from what I have read here these seem to be the best three. I like the home time with Maverick and TMC, but i also qualify for the Roehl Honor program but not sure if i want to sacrifice the time at home! I also have no idea what the freight lines are for these companies and which would be best for where i will be living. Any help with making this decision would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanx

    for me Roehl hands down.
Maverick trucks are a POS. go with the Roehl 7-3 / 7-4 run. i know a few guys who really like being home that long.

Roehl and Maverick run plain jane Freightliners, TMC runs big flashy Peterbuilts, but I think all three are know for having very good equipment.

TMC has the nicer trucks. Roehl has better home time depending on where you live. Roehl has a good training program. The Maverick guys that I have talked to seem to be happy.
The main difference is that Roehl also runs curtainsides and vans. TMC and Maverick only run flats. If flat freight is slow and it is, you can pull a van or curtain. If a company only has flats there you sit. Freight should start to pick up now though.
I do get a little jealous of those shiny, black Petes whenever I load next to one of them. Its like that old Rolling Stones song..... I see a red door and I want to paint it black.
I'm not really a fan of red and really hate Mav's burgundy. Not really a reason to choose a company though. Someone, somehow is paying the price for those pretty trucks. I'm guessing with the price of fuel the non-aerodynamic truck will be phased out anyway.

From what I have read here, if running a legal log means anything, you may want to choose Roehl. If you have a year or two under your belt, then I don't suppose it matters that much. I drove for Mav four months last year but I don't have the required proof to make public statements, if you PM me, I can tell more. You can also qualify your DM or disparcth by just asking a question or two directly. I can tell you what you hear at training may be a little different then the realities. Just remember to call your safety dept. if you believe that they are riding you too hard.

Roehl has good equipment. I have been told they are in the process of replacing tractors with over 500k miles on them. There are a couple dozen brand new tractors sitting at the Marshfield Terminal waiting to be put on the road.

When you talk to the Roehl recruiter, make sure they can promise you flatbed. I wanted flatbed, but due to my location I had to accept van for the time being. I am on the Honor Program as well and the flatbed guys get a higher salary than us van guys. Good luck.

my neighbor drives for Maverick and all 3 of his trucks have been a POS so far.
I have seen some nice Mavericks on the road but looks like they are few and far from the norm.
