Can you have your sister pay for your ticket in Denver or online so you can just get on the bus and get home.

The one way rates depend on weather they have a chance of getting another one way to return the vehicle. If you are saving them from shipping the vehicle back they will give it to you for the daily rate but if they will probably have to ship it back they will add that expense, it is just business.

You made it to "safe haven".
It is the company's burden to get you back to the point of origin (home).
The thing is that this must be done in a "reasonable" amount of time.
Engage the company via E_MAIL ONLY (paper trail).
    Keep ALL of THAT (private)
Stay where you are and give the company reasonable amount time to resolve the matter of getting you home. (you are on the company's dime).
DO NOT GIVE THEM THE ABANDONMENT defense. Protect your DAC.

The advice above is the result of a phone call to a lawyer regarding this thread.
'Screw-em - get home - move on' but do it right.

so I went to their face book page and asked if they leave drivers stranded in the middle of nowhere. lets see if they answer. But one positive thing will come out of all this, All the drivers from here telling anyone who will listen how bad navajo is. Good luck PJ. im sorry you were treated so badly.

Okay, I'm glad you have the means for the tickets. I was just following along on your posts and when you started talking about that ride share being an option I didn't want to see that happen. I don't know you from the next person but I'm fortunate with my job that I can afford to help out. (Well that and I quit smoking when I got my new truck but I still withdraw my weekly cigarette money and just hoard it. Seeing what I have saved up in 4 months and 4 days is encouragement enough to never buy a pack of them again but that's a story for another thread and time).

As for "asking too much". Well for a driver to just stop and pick you up without any input to or from the company is not only against most company policies it's against the law. But most smaller companies like mine it can be done, there's a process to get a rider slip and had I seen your post before I went through there I would have stopped and done the necessary paperwork to give you a lift home. I was through there about 5:30 am on Thursday morning and I'm sitting in Colorado right now. In addition I happen to be pulling a curtainside (for only the second time in 2 years) with more than enough room to move all your stuff.

Please keep us updated on how things go, keep your head up but be ready for some problems with companies questioning you on what happened at Navajo as you look for new employment. There is a defined set of things a new company can ask Navajo and an even more defined set of things Navajo can say to the company inquiring. If they do list your reason for leaving as abandonment it's going to be a tough road but not a dead end.

call and ask the moving truck companies if they need a truck or van shuttled back to Denver,U haul and Penske do this quite often, a few years ago they were basically giving the trucks to renters willing to take them back to caifornia

I looked at their Facebook site (Navajo Express) and the only comment is from Oct 28th. Maybe I'm not looking at the right webpage? They are probably deleting negative comments?

Nah they are still on there. They are up to 3 negative comments and one guy put the link on a few of their recruiting posts.
